I bought a 2019 Jeep Renegade the compass was broken when I bought it. The check engine light came on in the first month of ownership Both times it took the dealership about a week to fix it. I called FCA . They gave me 100 thousand mile 7 year bumper to bumper warranty. Im Very happy I will keep it for 100 thousand of seven years It makes me feel better. I do like my Jeep. No more problems after the first month of ownership. The word Fiat is a scary word when you start off having problems

I had a 2016 "Dawn of Justice" Latitude and had a few issues with her. At 26K miles, two weeks ago, I decided it was time for a change. The trade in value on these is awful and I took a $4K loss. Clearly (just like with any 1st gen model) the 2015 Renegade had some growing pains and needed some tweaking. I’d like to believe that by now it’s been refined and the issues of the 2015 model are nonexistent in 2018 and moving into 2019.

I had a 2016 Renegade Sport which I absolutely loved (2.4L/Auto). The only issue I ever had with it was power loss during a sharp turn, which a TSB software update fixed. Since then, I got a really good deal on a 2018 Renegade Trailhawk. The TH feels like it's putting out more power and seems more responsive, so I'm guessing they have things tuned better. Most of the issues I've heard about seem to be around the 2015 models, so hopefully they've learned a few things since then.

I'll have owned my '17 Renegade a year in April and I've had it in the shop 2 times so far. Once being soggy back floors due to improper sealing on the outside of the vehicle and that was fixed in one day. Second being a dash warning that my lights interior and exterior no longer worked(which they actually still worked). The dealer kept it a couple days and couldn't find an issue and it hasn't happened again since. I have to say I love my Renegade it really is a nice car, I think the drive is very exceptional and it just feels like a fit for me. I'm a fan of boxy vehicles and instead of starting with a Wrangler I went with a Renny. My wife just bought an '18 Cherokee as well and I mean it's ok but it's no Renegade imo... Thanks for posting your updates and mods, hopefully you have better luck with the 4x4.

I feel the same way but the more tech that is added to vehicles the more they are going to need to be serviced. I had an '08 Dodge Avenger before the Renegade and never had any major issues, it was the entry level SE model and had no bells and no whistles though. I do know a couple folks that have had good luck with their Renegades and ive seen and/or read quite a bit online from folks who can't seem to catch a break. It actually inspired me to purchase the mopar extended warranty even though I just have a sport model. But it is a 4x4 with push start and the 5" uconnect and I am just shy of 13k miles so I'm sure somewhere down the road I'm going to run into some sort of costly trouble.

Hey. Love your videos. I have a 2017 renegade sport. I really wanted a wrangler, but they were out of my price range. Plus all my research showed the renegade got better mpg so I went with the renegade, as I drive alot for work and often am on rough dirt roads. So far she has been pretty good- have had her 7 months and put on 12,000 miles. During the winter the screen would flash: "recommend an engine heater" Which really ticked me off. If this jeep cant handle a maine winter, then it shouldnt be sold in Maine. But I ignored the light and had no issues other than a few times she would do a weird cranking thing and not start until the 5th or 6th attempt. She is great in snow! Love how she just cuts thru 5 inches with no issue. Oh the one really annoying thing is the fuel flap and gas cap. We had some really bad ice storms and the thing wouldnt open. When I finally got it open, then it would not shut. The locking mechanism froze, and without a gas cap I had to drive it open, exposed to the blowing snow. I am not a fan of the push to open fuel flap and lack of the gas cap. Otherwise, though I kinda of like my little beasty renegade. Any thoughts on what to do next winter with the fuel flap?

I have had my 2.4L Latitude since September 2015 and it has 51,000+ miles on it. It has been pretty good and the only problem I've had was with the speakers that were pretty junkie. They replaced the radio first but it turned out to be the speakers. They did some software updates when it was new that fixed some minor problems but it has been a while since any updates. I can honestly say it is driving smoother than it ever has, is fun to drive, is a tank in the snow and the gas mileage is pretty good. We went on a 6,000 mile trip last year and averaged over 30mpg on the highway portions of the trip. I am on a couple of Renegade forums and have seen problems discussed that are not that much different from any other car forum. I truly believe the biggest problem the Renegade has is with the dealers. Some of them are really bad and I am amazed they stay in business. I enjoy your videos and have been suscribed for a while.

Has been to the shop many times,,, two turbos, over heated, few days later blew off radiator hose(had to be towed) , front right suspension rebuilt two times now, 4x4 problems, Lost dynamic steering , hill assist, electronic skid control... but if you restart the Jeep it seems to reset! Dealer could not find anything wrong. I do like driving it but I do not trust it! And if it had to be replaced I would not buy another one. I did buy a “ life time warranty “ hope that helps 🤣😂... I’ve averaged about 27 mpg... but our fastest speed limit in Alaska is 65 mpg. Sad to say ....but I trust my 6 year old Subaru with 180k miles and it’s really never been touched . Oh and on my first oil change the Jeep dealer over filled my engine by 1quart! Luckily I noticed it when I got home, and they paid to have it towed back. The popularity of this vehicle is just lost on me. I honestly don't understand it and here is why. 1. It's not a Jeep. Why buy a Fiat with a Jeep tag on it? It's a Fiat from front to back. Fiat motor, transmission, chassis everything! So why would a Jeep fan buy a Fiat? 2. They have MAJOR reliability issues. This is because they are Fiat and Fiat makes VERY poor vehicles! It is not unheard of AT ALL for Fiat motors and transmissions to go out with as little as 30,000 miles on them because their quality is so bad!! MANY mechanics consider Fiat the worst motor and transmission on the market! Fiat numbers are so bad they are talking of pulling Fiat out of America. 3. The Jeep Renegade has HORRIBLE resale value!!! Part of this is because people were tricked into buying these thinking they are a Jeep product. They are a Fiat and have NOTHING to do with Jeep!! When customers start having problems with them and then find out it is all Fiat and horrible quality ………..well...…..they have a tendency to get angry!!
