Broken Arrow: Gameplay video

The developers at Steel Balalaika have been hard at work during all of 2022 so far. Their hard work is paying off, and the game is turning out to be a real jewel.
We can't wait to show you more, and we are pleased to announce that soon we will be resuming our developer diaries series.
In the meantime, we have decided to prepare a new gameplay video to showcase the current state of the game.
Last but not least, we are aware that so many of you are wondering when the game is going to be released. We're not quite ready to give you a precise date, yet, but it is going to be in the first half of 2023.
Until then be sure to stay tuned, the developer diaries are going to give you a lot of insight on the game, and we'll be sure to show you something big before the winter holidays.

Please don’t forget about infantry. That is something that could really set this game apart from wargame and warno. I could never understand why wargame never even added a simple function/animation to ‘dig in’ when crossing open terrain, or to hold a crossroad, ambush a convoy from a tree line, or even fortify a building over time while getting or improving the defensive perks of being ‘in a building’. It was so disappointing to see infantry forgotten about in this sense when they can and should be such an important part of your deck.

Regiments 3 has this ability and its great. Have infantry at a choke point in the woods, if they sit there for a bit- they start making foxholes.

I feel infantry are always so weak in games when arguably they should be the mainstay. The games always end up like russias thunder run to kyiv-all tanks.

it would be cool if they had animation for spreading out during combat, everything else is animated really well but the inf is just not quite there.

Thats my point as well I wanted to see infantry at a tactical level that wargame lacked but sadly based on what I've seen its at no tactical level of gameplay exactly like wargame. SAD!

finally we are getting close to the insanity of wic . warno can too if they start being more ambitious and stop focusing only on micro unites . wic is story , cinematics , weather , atmosphere , destruction and chaos . something most rts of the genre lack but this one seems to be a good start

@@elgrapa3540 not that . Warno devs since forever they rather release more new unites than actually improve the gameplay experience . They even make all their scenarios in summer and day just to not bother with weather. They feel lazy , clouds not moving , map floating in the air not linked to background, no atmosphere, no real ambient sounds , no weather , no cinematics ever . They waste all their times adding micro unites instead of working on doing what made wic unique

@@elgrapa3540 Yeah but the units in WiC actually come back when they die, incentivizing aggressive, mobile play and not the absolute snore fest that is Wargame/WARNO. In WiC you certainly try to keep your units alive, sure, but you also aren't petrified of losing them, since you know, it's a world war 3 RTS and all and realistically you'd expect that kind of war to be extremely attritional, as we're already seeing in Ukraine with two conventional armies armed to the teeth with modern weaponry.

I think what I like about this is that you can play in the city. That's something that I always found lacking in Wargame and, to a slightly lesser extent, Warno.

TTK is very fast in this video and thats how it is IRL. I know it's Alpha but I an very excited for this game. Can you imagine other nations and types of units? Going to be so fun to play. Keep up the great work.

Steel Balalaika used to be a former competitive Wargame: RD group. They had some complaints over balancing and stuff and in the end just decided to make their own game.

Infantry should have an order button to take cover or automatically take cover on armored vehicles and lay blind suppresive fire. I am also looking forward for CQB small arms tactics, to door to door clearing without the micromanageme to fill a niche + having high caliber assets to gundown walls where the enemy is.

I've been watching reactions to the demo. It looks pretty good thus far. Don't forget to properly use your logistical units. Don't bring logistical units in to direct sight of the enemy. Rotate troops back to the logistical hubs for a refill. Your troop transports shouldn't be engaging directly with the enemy. They should drop off and fall back when able. IFVs such as the bradley can be used for direct engagement. It looks like an awesome game thus far.

Mariupol, Lyman and SeveroDonezk seem to be sufficient for lethal urban combat. From the looks of it (Commie blocks) it takes place in eastern Europe.

I would not know how but I really, really hope that this game will be less of a clickfest than the Eugen Systems games. Maybe even more akin to the Graviteam games? That would be my personal dream. (In fact, the UI looks way more like Graviteam than like a title by Eugen).
