What do you dislike in specific? I think the UI designer is doing a good job. Edit: This is not the final UI, but your feedback could help.
@smiley.653411 ай бұрын
The mini-map is too small and very unclear, some icons are too big and some are too small (the icons on the bottom right really need some sorting), the "ping" icons don't show what they are supposed to be, the UI showing unit visibility is a bit unclear, the unit selection menu could maybe be improved with icons instead of 3 letter abbreviations, top right menu shouldn't be visible when playing IMO except for the chat button. Also I don't know if this already is a feature but when loading in show a version of the map that depicts the terrain elevations. @@eron3067
@supermonkeywtf0911 ай бұрын
The main things to me were: The UI takes up too much space without communicating more information, Iis also hard to see due to a lack of contrast on the white text and transparent background. Many of the icons are different resolutions and styles from one another, and are quite complex and make it hard to discern what is going on in them at a glance with a very busy interface. Key aspects are missing too, like the unit card (why they took it away is strange, but they did say it is coming back) and unit loss notifications. Whilst the aircraft call in is a massive square with a bunch of unnecessary elements on it showing some sort of hardly visible altitude and speed bar that I don't think is even functional. The minimap also has not differentiation between units, a bunch of equal sized but large square makes it difficult at a glance to see what is happening. Also the team colouring is very similar, lots of shades of green. If there are 5 players max then using a colour picker to get easily discernable colours per player should be manageable. I think it is best seen when you look at other UIs in similar games (World in Conflict, Wargame/SteelDivison/Ruse/Warno, Joint Task Force, Men of War). The battlefield is super busy visually, and having large transparent UI blocks with low contrast makes it hard to read. The black background and shading just cuts off in sharp edges sometimes and fades out in others which makes it seem half baked. If they consolidated the spacing, added significantly more contrast by making the background even darker and adding shading to differentiate between buttons and text then that would be a step in the right direction. But the whole thing screams of a software engineer putting together a functional UI rather than getting someone to sit down, draft and iterate an interface from design principles around legibility and readability. I am hoping this will change by the time they release to the market, as I imagine they are very busy on the systems and optimisation. But developing a user interface can be just as time consuming and if done poorly can really take away from the experience. @@eron3067

To me it looks like you guys were missing the basics. You all took fighters at start and had no presence on the battlefield, the enemy was able to gain substantial ground while your fighters were burning holes in the sky. Another thing is a serious lack of reconnaissance, you must be able to see the enemy before you can kill it. I also think that with all the fighters up you guys should have gone ahead with the paratrooper drop since you had the maximum amount of fighter escort. Beyond this, I think Russia taking laser bombers to deal with the M1A2's are going to be a must, they are a serious threat and need to be treated as such. Also, aggressive use of non radar AA close to the front line might be the way to counter allied air superiority. Keep at it, I enjoyed what I saw!

And do you really think that if the other side would be as weak as you claim it is, it will be fun and interesting to play for or against them in the game? It won't be a fun strategy game, instead it's going to be yet another US military sim that the market has abundance of, with piss-poor balance favoring the merica. It won't be fun.
