That battle plan allowed for a hard and fast type of tactic. With many thrusts. Penetrating the enemy deeply and repeatedly.

It doesn't show control points and which side of the map do you start from, drawing dicks and playing tic tac toe is its only purpose right now

The thing is that the battle planner is useless. You don't really know on which side you're on and you're stuck doodling. It's a fun tone setter though. Every time I see someone doodling around it's less likely they'll ragequit if anything goes wrong

Definitely gotta build that muscle memory, saw a few examples where you were miss keying or not keying in the right order. Like when you sent the viper carrying scout cav back without deploying. But yeah, this game does look like it can overwhelm a player quick. Of note, that player who was running the doom stack of T-14s and T-15s didn't really use much infantry, it looks like he had lots of AA cover, decent recon, and ATGMs galore. However, those T-15s never left to get more troops. Kinda limits the purpose of those heavy AFVs, they are great for breaking through and deploying troops through the gap but he didn't have much else to deploy replacement infantry with.

for a "mobile recon unit" i actually really recommend a fully upgraded scout bradley or a the scout abrams, both are actually really good considering they dont cost a lot more than their non recon counterpart

They don't cost as much, but they come without APS and additional armor upgrades (that also give you HP). Non-recon tanks are still better at engagements during armored assaults.

@@lovepeace9727 well yeah, cuz it's not their point..also scout Bradley's get a APS and if you hide your scout tank in a forest it can shoot at the enemy tank staying unspotted, since the enemy tank doesn't have enough spotting

That was really good teamplay in the end, an overall cool fight. :) But i wanna point one thing out you propably found out yourself. the M60 might has been a meatshield in wargame, but in broken arrow its a totally different thing. probing, flanking, moving and pushing in, taking the atgm for the abrams but overall supporting. More like a simple rifleman. It is absolutely able to deliver enough damage and is so much more useful than in other games.

F-35 bomber loadout is really good, you should try it! (But remember how to use the bombing run, weird key blind, need to click P multiple times before clicking targets)

The game does need color blind mode. It's obvious how hard it is for you to see red markers that should have been easy to see.

I highly recommend using the osprey, it is the fastest helo (Almost as fast as the C-130) and can get you to points faster than the RU faction

having played a bit of both, american artillery is so damn strong because it has double the range of anything russia has, it’s so brutal to fight unless you have ALBMs, please keep the Broken Arrow coming

This game is possibly a little too hectic atm. I think they could do with upping the survivability of units just a little bit, especially infantry.

I feel like vehicules are way over armored and the ATGMs are way too weak. Like it currently requires 3 Javelins to kill a T-80 without APS where we saw in Ukraine that 1 Javelin was plenty enough against a tank.

We dont balance for real life for reasons though. The main one is that if you pit two modern armies against one another itll always devolve into a missile and bomb fest and thats not fun for gameplay

@@staggerdagger yeah well, it ain't fun that way. I mean, pushing Armor to the enemy's gate should not be a valid tactic when faced to a TOW-2 missile and a bunch of Marines with AT4's.

APS eats one of the rounds. ATGM's are not weak and tanks can die very quickly if you know what you're doing and understand the game.

Adressing the begining of a round, a LOS tool is flawed at the moment, and interacts poorly with altitude changes.

Don't want to be that guy, but one th8ng for infantry I'd reccomend is the top attack smaw sure it's range isn't great but it has pretty good damage for 60 points.

This is a really good game. My one complaint is a bit on the realism side. I believe doctrine should be true to form. Give the Russians about 200% of the unit amounts (quantity) and then decrease their quality by 50%.

Games like this are cool BUT there are big cuts from the reality of the systems used in-game. For example a PAC-2 Patriot has a range of 160km, yet these are flat out engaging a target within a few kilometres. If they're going to include 'cool' things like APS, then make the rest true-to-life.

It's a game not a simulation. I understand your gripe, but RTS games have to be balanced a certain way (imo). Maybe some mods will come out that push it towards more realism. I'm really hoping the modding scene for this game will be decent.

@@MrProfilen It's a game not a simulation. Having everything so close range isn't fun. Wargame is fun and the distances are just a bit more. I think they cutting ranges just to be different. The reality is it removes a key tactical gameplay loop.

Not a good example because wargame has 3x distance scaling. There aren't many games with realistic ranges apart from probably arma.
