I love these guys. When they start touring again, I cannot recommend enough to go see them live. I was lucky enough to have caught them live in New Orleans in 2014. They've only performed live 79 times here in the US in that time, so I consider myself to be very lucky to have been at one of them. As great as James and Brian sound in the studio, they sound even better live. General admission, right in front of the stage. It was a magical night.

@@ankracing With their new album coming up, I'm sure they'll be touring. I'm looking at their past tours. They did play two shows in Hamburg and Cologne in 2010, and one in Berlin in 2014. Just keep an eye out for upcoming tour dates in the next few months. It was an amazing experience. Our tickets were general admission and we were right there in front of the stage. They were even eating at the same restaurant my date and I went to eat at before the show. I wanted to talk with them for a minute, thanking them for making such great music both separate and together, possibly get a picture with them, but I didn't want to interrupt them while the were eating, and couldn't work up the courage when they leaving. I hope you get a chance to see them live.

I had the same fortunate experience! In Vancouver BC Canada.... Front row and James handed me his set list at the end. Then I ran into Brian and James in the alleyway behind the venue and they both autographed it....absolute HEAVEN. PERFECT UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT.

I just stood at my balcony window, there was a heavy summer rain while the sun was still shining here in Germany, there was the smell of rain in the air and Spotify played "Saturdays". I was looking outside for like 5 minutes and it felt like a movie scene, because of your incredible music. I guess I literally have to start my comment by using the word “literally” like everyone else has. : ) Seriously - while I’m a fan of Broken Bells and Danger Mouse I don’t think they’ve made an album better than their first. Don’t get me wrong - there’s phenomenal songs on every album. But their first is (literally?) stunning in its ability to be both experimental and crowd-pleasing - with certain tracks combining different song elements yet always delivering hooky, hummable melodies that buzz into your brain catching and clinging to your audio neural network. Saturdays, though, might be their best song while dropping their earlier experimentation and opting for a more familiar, popular and straightforward song structure. People keep remarking how it’s reminiscent of the Beatles - and certainly there’s a Lennon-esque psychedelic quality to the track. But I’m hearing something that sounds a bit more like the Moody Blues - crossed with Tame Impala and Washed Out. No matter the influences, it’s a wonderful song - both dreamy and nostalgic that somehow feels relevant and modern - avoiding being overwhelmed by its overtly sweet, swirling psychedelic production. This track reminds me of what Beck is capable at his best - writing songs so strong in melody and aural palette and composition that they land like needle drops in the soundtrack of your life. In other words - songs so compelling that they seem to have been created to provide a personal backdrop for your journey in this world.
