Its the year 2011, I remembered this being the first album I bought with my allowance money as a middle school kid. This was before Spotify, I didn’t know who this artists was and what the genre was. Also, I loved the cover. Sadly, It was this and ghostland observatory as the only album that was left in the music department when borders bookstore closed in my neighborhood. I remember putting this album in my CD player and high road and the entire album blew my mind . Honestly loved each part and combination of electronica and indie rock. My favorite early 2010s albums.

Took me a while to understand this one... After watching the video several times and thinking about the lyrics, this is about coping with the apparent lack of sense of life. It's basically this way: they both are wandering through the night (which represents walking through life with distractions but none of them bringing sense to it) and eventually realizing how far you have come and when you´re that far ahead, you also realize loss has been your guide througout. I guess it's hard to accept that but they do have a point for me, at least under this interpretation. Anyway, one thing is for sure: Once you realize that, it might be too late to change your mind, and therefore your path

Broken Bells is an absolutely awesome group. I bought After the Disco on vinyl and it sounds so great. The shins are good, but seems like the writing and music are so much bigger with Broken Bells. I hope they tour again soon because I would really like to see them live.
