It was a pleasure to meet you and your Dad. I’m glad I was able to help. I’ve enjoyed watching your journey. We’ll have to let our birds meet!

Ellie, If you're having trouble seeing while you weld, get an LED flashlight (I have a Milwaukee that stands on its own and the head is adjustable, but any bright LED flashlight will do) and point it at your weld. You'll be surprised at how much better you can see, both before you start the weld and during the process. I ALWAYS want more light when I weld, especially right on the weld joint. Especially if you ever find yourself just completely missing the line you're trying to weld on, this is an easy fix with more light.

Great job, when I first saw the seat frames I thought they were junk! They look amazing now!

You did such a great job on the seat frames. It's almost a shame to cover them up, isn't it? LOL! Your ferrule solution to repairing the break in the wire frame is PURE genius! Awesome job, friends! Aloha!

I'm watching you and Dad whale away on the flat stock to fab up new brackets, thinking, "Sweetie, just get some channel. You're doing this the hardest possible way. Just get some channel!" PS Don't worry about the wood burning while you're welding. The tack welds won't impart enough heat to set it alight and even if it did catch, a single piece of wood doesn't stay burning in isolation.

Except for wiring a old car/truck there's nothing as tedious as seat repair/reconstruction. Great Job 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

When I'm mig welding. I wear either two pairs of brown jersey gloves or leather gloves that are made for tig welding. They seem to give me a better feel for what I'm welding. Now when I'm arc welding I always wear my regular leather gloves.

@@ElliesGarage No problem. I started wearing the brown jersey gloves when I worked for a company called Clifford Research. They built headers and aluminum intakes for all kinds of 6 cylinder engines. They changed their name a few years ago to Clifford Performance. It was one of the better jobs I've had in my life. I miss the people I worked with, they made it fun to go to work. And that's a rare thing IMO.

Outstanding job! It all looks great. Not sure about the "pink tape" on your repair, but could you have used a heat shrink tubing?

Won't it turn in to a 5 seater if you switch to bucket seats though? I'm sure they'd be more comfortable so might be worth losing the 6th seat if you don't need it.
