Soaking up all the blessings God gives us everyday. Good health and 29 years of marriage on Nov. 10th. Watching Ollie run on the beach was just awesome! If you ever get back to Florida you should visit Seista Key. It is one of two beaches in the world that has crystals in the sand. It is truly a beautiful beach and ocean. When you get settled in N.C. look up Little Switzerland. It is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. It has craft shops and a Swiss Lodge, quaint little restaurants. I used to live there 6 months out of the year in my 20's. It closes from May to October. I sound like a travel agent!! When my daughter moved, the hospital she would be working at paid for the move. They told her, if there was any thing that was precious to her, to put it in her car. What did she consider precious? Her photographs, and her large collection of shoes!

It's NEVER crazy to do anything for Ollie. My Lady loved the beach too. We live in central NC also and drove down to Atlantic Beach for the day back at the end of May to make sure she got at least one more trip (her health was already declining at that point). It was ABSOLUTELY worth the three hour drive. When you're ready to introduce him to the NC coast, I recommend staying at The Atlantis Lodge, they are GREAT with dogs and are right on the beach.

Agreed, but my point is, it's never crazy to do something for our dogs that they enjoy too, especially when they have their own health issues. If we had waited for the ideal time, she never would've gotten to go, she passed away due to liver cancer in July.

I love how Ollie understood the spelling! LOL I just wanted to update you guys. Dad just had another swallow test today and he failed it, so he is llikely going to get a g-tube tomorrow afternoon. (He had a stroke 2 1/2 weeks ago.) It hopefully isn't permament and can be removed later.

Here’s an idea. Since you haven’t gotten a holder for your camera for the dash why not Velcro it to the dash. So that way you don’t have to hold onto it or worry about it sliding all over the place.

It's obvious his right hand is extended toward the dash. I'm not in "criticize mode" though. He has control of the car, probably steering with his knees. He can see the road, we can't. If the road is clear ahead and he's not going too fast, he can easily reach for the wheel, and of course slow down if need be.

Ponds and lakes are not safe right now it's been so hot here the algie in the water has killed dogs . Its also safe for humans . Just make sure you check all signs and posts about the danger.

That wasn't the point. They have so much to do before moving including more packing and preparing for a funeral, that they couldn't justify taking the time to go to the beach and leave everything that really needs to be done. They said they have a lot of things they "want" to do, and a lot of things they "need" to do. The beach was a "want" to do not a "need" to do, which explains the justification.

Please Peter I beg of you to focus more on the road and your driving when vlogging in the car. All too often your eyes are off the road and on the camera or Mary for scary lengths of time. My cousin was killed and her two young children left with lifelong injuries (we almost lost the both of them too, especially the baby) because of another driver who by his own admission was distracted by his phone. It happened on a major road that both drivers were very familiar with. Police have said there was absolutely nothing my cousin could have done to avoid the collision. It takes literally only a few seconds for a life to be lost and the lives of many others, including the driver whose actions killed an innocent person, to be irrevocably changed forever.
