That’s awesome! Well, I had to do something with my life. For some reason I settled on breaking down in classic Mopars a bunch and I made it to this point. Haha.

Awesome! I'm so glad you raised the front end just the right amount!👍 I'm lucky when it comes to alternator and starter problems, my brother in law owns a starter and alternator rebuild shop! I learned years ago, I'd never go any higher on gears than a 3:23 all the 2:76 gears were horrible. My last 68 charger had a 3:54 Dana, 3:54 and 3:55 are my favorites!👍

Hey brother sorry to be asking so many questions. You have answered my comments. Thank you. On the question of my headers glowing red. I have thought it could be vacuum leak or carb mix. What are your thoughts of letting the engine run for a good ride. with the header getting that hot. It doesnt seam to effect the temp or performance of the engine. Thanks again and I love all your videos.
@DeadDodgeGarage Жыл бұрын
If they’re to the point of glowing red, I would be a bit concerned to continue running it that way. For one thing, it could be an indicator of an extremely lean mixture in those cylinders, which could lead to damage and premature wear. The excess under hood temperature probably isn’t great either… I would really want to get to the bottom of that ASAP. It’s odd that it runs as well as it does, given all that.

Hello again. I commented the other day and you got back to me. (Thanks) Im the guy with the 73 Cuda with quick fuel carb . you said you liked. I have a question. My 440 runs great. Full hooker headers. Single plane intake. 850 carb. when warm my last 2 cylinders on each bank make the headers glow red. Its not timing. Any suggestion ?? Thanks Man !!!
@DeadDodgeGarage Жыл бұрын
An extremely lean mixture could lead to that. So could an incorrect firing order in a certain configuration, I think. But it’s definitely suspicious that it is the rear four. Random thought, could there possibly be a hidden open vacuum port under the back of the carburetor?

Well... Maybe! I certainly don't need them... If you're seriously interested and near enough to buy them (or want to pay shipping I suppose) shoot me a message on the Dead Dodge Garage Facebook, or send me an email at jamienoise@gmail.com Also, that sounds like an amazing build. I've got one of those engines I should do something with... I just don't know what.

My very first charger was a 383 automatic it had a 276 ratio gear I was pretty happy with that then I put the 323 in there and realize how much more torque it had there was a little bit of better difference in gas mileage not too much I kinda like the way u took all the extra junk out u dont need that to drive enjoy the sound of the engine and gears whining
@DeadDodgeGarage2 жыл бұрын
Bingo! Yeah that’s my thinking on gears. I want better than 11 mpg in today’s world, but I definitely want to enjoy it still. Haha.

Put in a 4 speed, it'll add value and driveability to your car.
@DeadDodgeGarage2 жыл бұрын
Well, there is a certain drivability aspect to throwing it in drive and cruising down the road too - and the 727 is tight. Chirps those 295s on a hard 1-2 shift. But let’s just say I’m fully aware that there is a four speed, a brand new pedal set, and a pistol grip shifter in my ‘66 sitting 50 feet from the ‘68 right now…
