I had a Oswold Stax Commander deck in paper Magic. It was too consistent, won every single game, but it was awful playing it. Everyone hated it, and I decided to never play it again. The commander is INSANELY good.

Fiddlebender is one of those cards that REALLY benefits from being on MTGA. Not having to search through a physical deck of cards for the exact one you'll fetch every game anyways, and even having all the cards ordered automatically so only the options you're actually allowed to pick are highlighted makes this bearable to both play and see in action. At a table though, this would be hell.

CGB really makes me reconsider Linvala Keeper of Silence as a staple in my decks. I think Ozzwald falls just into the category of too powerful for fair decks but to weak for the meta of the hell Q.

Because commanders rely a lot more on combo wins as you have 3 opponents, and it's really hard to just kill them all one by one. In HB you can just play a traditional midrange/aggro/control deck and win. In fact most top commanders in HB are not combo focused because they are much easier to interrupt in 1v1. But yea it's very unfun to play against

I’m so happy paradox engine is banned in commander. I used to be friends with someone who played infinite turns paradox engine. I am not friends with him anymore. His mind set was also “there is only so much fun to have and I want all of it” I’m sure you understand why I don’t like that card. Or him.

Made my own Tatyova deck after watching your last vid. Watching through all the instant surrenders reminded me of a game I had earlier. Popped off with it, drew out my entire deck and kept recycling time warp, just time warp the opp cast teferi's protection so I had to at least wait till after that wore off to swing. Almost drew myself out, he waited for like 10 minutes, stopped at 3 cards left, he tried get me to draw out with a spell (Codi deck), and I had every counterspell in my deck in hand. He scooped fast. Moral of the story, if you don't want your opp to scoop in historic brawl, make sure they cast Teferi's protection as you combo off.

Man Oswald Fiddle Bender takes me back. It was one of my first historic brawl decks (with a slightly different win con of using scrap trawler to keep reoccurring artifacts from graveyard and paradox engine plus aetherflux reservoir for the eventual damage) honestly really interested in trying this deck (will probably change a few cards though since I really don’t like 100% net decking).

Yasharn is my favorite hatebaor in commander precisely because it shuts down combo decks. Great demonstration. I think Yasharn really drags the best decks down to play with you in the mud. Really. Pig your poison. Either you fight me on my element or you miss your curve and stay the target. It's great to have it as a gap closer between strong and weak EDH decks at a table. In 1v1 it seems brutally unfun to play against.

I literally don't understand why paradox engine is not banned already in brawl. There's a reason it was banned in EDH, the same reason applies to this format for boring one dimensional decks like these. It goes against the spirit of the fun and unique games that brawl and commander are supposed to provide but when there's only one win-con in a deck it takes all that uniqueness away from the game.

Love the deck but I have to disagree with CGB on one thing. Miirym Dragons is the best deck to break into historic brawl in my opinion. It's a no-brain deck that just ramps hard, slap dragons down, attacks face and win. Though a good version of it is a little on the expensive side it tears through most decks in the format with ease. Making it ideal to use for grinding gold especially since a multi-colored deck.
