Hey! Thank you for tying that in with the show, haha. It's funny... I originally started playing magic back in ‘94 ‘95. My friends had cards and would let play with one of their decks. I eventually got cards of my own, but they were stolen. I didn’t get new cards, so I didn’t back into magic until about the end of 2018. I heard of commander and tried a game with a precon that I purchased. I liked it so much that it is now the only format that I play.

I started in 2001 thanks to my father that decided to try this way to help me get new friends. I don't remember what made me fell in love with the game. Probably the huge amount of possibilities (for legacy for sure, but that came later.) Probably the fact that it was a fantasy game that made me "escape" reality and have fun. I still play now, of course. Being able to come up with something myself and have it be good is so nice. Value is so nice. Everything about the game (stories, fan made cards, reading articles both old and new) it's something that fascinates me.

I have always been a fan of great but tragic heroes, the stories they have tend to be amazing and relatable (in terms of why they do the good they do). Before Magic the Gathering, my favorites consisted of Tony Stark, Boromir, etc. Gideon Jura is the main reason I got into Magic, the lore surrounding him was great (though somewhat retconned) and he was a Legend, a true Hero, someone who does what's right no matter the situation, he doesn't ask "what should I do" he asks "what is the right thing to do" and he does it, his death being the best example. Gideon Jura being a Good person and a hero worth learning from is the reason I still play Magic.
