Love videos like this! When things go wrong, it's great to see how professionals handle it.

There's a fair bit of play in that shim, the interior diameter is too big so if it's not perfectly centered it will prevent the locker from working. Not sure why it expanded so much, maybe it was wrong from the factory. We sanded it down, made sure it was centered when assembling and it's working fine now.

that is a thrust washer, you can order a new one from OX for .49 cents
@fedorp47134 жыл бұрын
The washer that was in the locker was the wrong size. OX support told me on the phone that the thrust washer was actually the same as the thrust washer used on the side gear in the carrier. I took one out of the carrier and sure enough, they are different. Fits perfectly.

I had one out of a Dana 44, that broke the differential pin broke in half, and the kid was driving it locked, he didn't know which direction the cable handle was supposed to be, he had it confused back disengaged, forward engaged.

when your going into the unknown you just never know, luckily it was just a worn thrust washer causing the issue. I thought it was a shim at first but looking at the parts breakdown today I see what it is now

@@BackCountryWrenching yea there right up there with the ARB airlockers!!!
@BackCountryWrenching4 жыл бұрын
Air lockers are not the best choice where I live, they fail quite often in our cold climate. Not to the fault of the locker but without a system to dry the air from the compressor the lines quite commonly freeze up.

Heat works with a lot more than just red lock tite. I would also think that being made in America, they would use SAE not metric bolts. You never know anymore though.

Is it the outside edge that got buggered or was it the inside ID that got hogged out a little allowing the spacer to wallow around letting the outside edge to move to where it catches?
