G'day Nookrium. Audio Lead/Composer for Broken Roads here. Very sorry about the audio issues. The Master, Music and SFX sliders are all hooked up, the character creation music persists thanks to a nasty lil bug that's been fixed and in the latest patch I believe. Voice and Ambience sliders will be hooked up this week. Cheers mate!

To buy just one item you have to hold the right mouse button and drag. I made a mention to the devs that even with the little info screen it's not very clear that's how it works.

Ah, home. The coloured wheelie bins are a night sight. Though i feel it needs more Holdens. As for artistic direction i say it is pretty on point though it could take more inspiration from towns out here. My greatest criticism is the lack of any Queenslanders, be it house or person, but i suppose this takes more place among the southerners.

@@sundaysunday9718 well I guess if it is western Australia it does make sense, but yes I never doubted the authenticity since it looks very much like Australian towns (just not like any Queensland town that I have seen along my travels across the state), what with the classic sheet metal along the counter of the pub, to the shipping container (my father owned one of those) and such things like architectural design such as the hanging roof buildings in the commercial centre.

@@oceaniaimperia1985 for sure mate, we actually did a trip to WA in 2022 and drove the route of the game, it has a completely different look and feel to Queensland, especially the gum trees. Beautiful part of Australia, I highly recommend anyone to visit, especially Wave Rock!

It felt a little rough around the edges when I played it, but there's a lot to like. I really like the way they handle the moral compass. It actually incentivized me to play in character which is always great. I didn't feel like I was min maxing in my short time with the game, what happens happens.

Well considering the place where this game is based The state of WA has 349,492 guns for 2 million population, I don't think they'd that hard to find.

Nope that's wrong the only things that we're turned in were fully automatic rifles semi-automatic rifles and pump action shotguns. You can't have these without a proper reason. And you can't have handguns unless you're a member of a Gun Club

Iunno, I feel like a smart dev could really cash in on subverting the "post apocalypse" trope when it comes to Australia; instead of the typical "everything sucks, humanity goes full mad max and nature is fking metal", which is how most of the world already views IRL Australia, "post apocalyptic" Australia is considered a beacon of hope and a civilized first world country which has its stuff together because to Australians,"the apocalypse" is just another monday morning. EDIT: removed strikethrough.

I thought this looked interesting so I downloaded the Demo to play for myself. Here are some of my impressions: 1) Only one of the character classes is available to you, that kind of stinks. 2) Even if you go full bore into one type of morality, only one perk is available to you, the other three are not. 3) Some of the lines are spoken, others are not, why? 4) The mission objectives are a bit vague and give you no clue as to where the mission objective is (Potential spoiler a couple of returns down). In the mission where you can choose to give Sid aid, the last part is to check up on Sid's treatment. You don't see where he goes when he is carried away. Nobody mentions Sid or where he went after that scene. You think you are supposed to do it before you leave town, but no, you simply go to the other town and you meet Sid and he acts like nothing happened, doesn't even mention his illness. 5) I grew up in the old school MUD type RP style, where you type out your actions. It was because you didn't have a graphical interface. So why do they do that in this game when they HAVE graphics. Don't tell me the character is wiping their face when I can already SEE that action taking place! 6) The pacing is SLOW and the game is rather DULL. 7) The camera and character controls are poorly implemented and clunky. They really could benefit from using something more akin to the recent X-Com games.

Protip: Post Apocalyptic outback is safer because there are less vaxxed lunatics in charge of heavy machinery.
