Hey - yep, Broken Roads is very much narrative-driven and we hope you all have a lot of fun with the Moral Compass. We've added settings in the demo that will resemble the game closer to launch, but we want people to be able to display the Moral Compass and moral choices however they please (say, hiding a preview of how that choice will move your world view, or hiding the fact a dialogue option is a moral choice at all, or displaying only [Moral] instead of the actual quadrant... whatever suits your play style/preferences).
@dempa3
@dempa3 10 ай бұрын
@@DropBearBytes Thank you very much for the reply! Will there be any strain on the characters for making difficult choices, or choices not incongruent with Previous views and actions? I don't know exactly how that would work game mechanically. A debuff, for moral och psychological fatigue, maybe?

As a big CRPG fan, I must admit; your channel has become required viewing before buying any game of that nature. It's also a highly refreshing approach to reviewing instead of the modern dross that passes for 'games jounalism.' Keep up the good work; i'm about to start my first playthrough of WOTR, and will be viewing your vids on it repeatedly. Pumped for Rogue Trader; with Space Marine 2 looking promising, 40k appears to be 'finally' passing the 'crap' games phase.

Fully voicing everything costs money, makes it more costly and time consuming to make changes and rewrites and generally incentivizes devs to limit the amount of dialog and dialog options in the game. Text is king when it comes to CRPGs if you actually care about the writing.

@HowardsCat
@HowardsCat 11 ай бұрын
@@TheGoukaruma It didn't on release. They were able to fund voice acting for the entire game due to the success of the original release. Supposedly, the process of casting and recording all the characters took about 14 months. Now imagine that they had decided to do that from the start and add all that work and cost to the initial game. Do you still think the writing would have been as expansive? Or would they have cut down on dialog and characters to save time and money, to not sink the entire project?
