Broken-Tile Mosaic Shower Floor & Mosaic Shower Wall Repairs in our Skoolie

We used broken stone tiles (instead of ceramic dishes) for the floor of our shower, and repaired a few of the loose tiles in our shower wall mosaic. The stone tiles were easy to find and cheap to buy, but a little bit hard to break! Kerry had to prop them up on a rock and then hit them with a hammer to make the pieces small enough to work right. Kerry also created a red starfish out of a broken dinner plate as part of the "ocean floor."
There were also some loose mosaic tiles in part of the shower walls, so we made sure to re-adhere each piece back in place with thinset, so the whole shower will be ready for grout... in our next episode!

About Us:
Hi! We are Mike & Kerry, the proud owners of a 1992 Bluebird rear engine (pusher), 40' school bus! We named her Bussy McBusface in honor of the RRS Boaty McBoatface travesty!

I love your videos. It’s helped me through the last year of chemo, twice, radiation and 4 surgeries. I’m on the mend and everyday should be lived like it’s your last. I think what y’all are doing is admirable and I’m green with envy. I going to start redoing my RV in January so I can hit the road when I have enough energy to complete my renovation. As a retired architect I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’d do a skoolie but I don’t have that much time and I don’t have Mike’s hands on skills. Remember cut twice and measure once. I look forward to seeing you adventurous videos of y’all traveling on the road with Miss Kitty. Happy trails from the sunny and now cool north Georgia mountains. 🌈🌞

I am probably too late but one tip I got from pros at tile, was to deepen the grout lines around the tiles. The grout is key! deep grout lines will make your job last.

I know this sounds weird I could sit and watch hours of video of you doing the mosaic I used to do mosaic years ago but my hands don't let me do it anymore that is such a beautiful shower wow👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👍👍👍. ✌🤙❤👨‍🍳🎅🚌

Wow I love your shower mosaic. That is super cool. I've been doing my kitchen backsplash with broken dishes. But my mosaic looks nothing like yours. Mine is very colorful but you have done an absolutely tremendous job on shaping your tiles.
