Broken timing belt! Porsche 944 Restore, replacement belt procedure and first start attempt..

Today we're doing some maintenance on the 1 Owner Porsche 944 that has been stored for 20+ years in preparation to putting it back on the road! Belts, Rollers, Water Pump, and Timing Cover Modification on a 1984 Porsche 944 stored 20+ years.

I love your vids they are informative and quick and the subject is of course my favorite car of all time. When these came out in 1983 which I now have one that needs everything like yours does. They were my favorite car then and still. I drove mine for a year before parking it and thoroughly enjoyed every mile of it. Back and forth from Portland, OR. to Ashland OR. every week what a blast. Got it by trade of a early model Honda Passport which had a bad transmission. Couldn't believe it when this guy pulled up driving this 1983 Gold 944 title in hand and said " trade ya straight across". I didnt even hesitate. He called his wife she showed up an hour later with a trailer loaded the Passport signed over titles and I had my favorite car and never even thought I would ever own one. Total fluke. I will watch every video you make! Thank you and nice work.

A bit misleading to say broken belt in the title, when it really wasn’t......

Actually the rib fell off as show in the thumbnail while removing the belt. Did it split in two? No, but it was 100% broken and would have destroyed the motor had we tried to crank it.
