Good tip actually locking the auto hubs manually, I'll be sure to remember that.

In a '22 Troopie I can smell a faint diesel whiff in the cab when the DPF burns..will check aircon now too. Thanks for the reveal on the auto hubs...all the best from WA.

Great test of the hubs, but can you do the 4wd community a favour by not driving on areas with no existing tracks (9:48). We’ll end up being locked out.

Yes understood, thanks for that..

I pleased that I guessed the auto hub failure and not a CV joint on the last episode

Do you think these new 79s could tow a 3.5 ton caravan ? Love your vids Very informative Cheers 🍻
@TeamBulletOffroadАй бұрын
My 2 cents worth.. I would say NO, weekend trips I would go 3.2 tonne max, but if I was doing a lap, I wouldn't go heavier than 2.8.. Towing the comp truck you can feel its working... But that example and you will see in next weeks video, its also the braking that's a concern. Its ok with the upgrade and im sure in time with lock up kits, exhausts and motor mods etc they will be better...

You can just leave your hubs locked all the time. No harm done and it is actually of benefit to the life of the bearings in the diff if they keep rotating. Makes no difference to fuel consumption. Mine are always locked when I leave the bitumen.

You can make the auto hubs into free and lock, I did it to mine, then they won’t auto lock

Good vid mate, Im just back from WA trip, aircon worked fine in low 40c temps with dpf burns, didnt notice any difference. Ronny D experience with auto hubs is that they can disengage if you roll back.
