What I love about Josh's performance of this song is it evokes a completely different emotional response than the original artist Lara Fabian. Her's comes across with a touch of anger like she's still a little mad that the relationship is over where as to me Josh evokes a wistfulness with his take on the song. Both renditions are absolutely beautiful.

He is the only performer I have ever heard they can make this grown man cry almost every single bloody time I hear him! He seems with such passion, so much depth, so beautifully that it just does something to me that touches my heart, and brings out emotion that I seldom ever show, and more than that, it brings that emotion pouring out with me, so I have to be careful, I hate crying in front of people, if I have to listen to Josh Groban in public, I usually end up running away because it’s too embarrassing to see a 53-year-old man burst into tears, that’s what happens every time I hear his music. I can’t explain it, but I always feel better afterwards, I’ve seen therapists and psychiatrists, to no avail, but every time I hear him sing, it pulls the emotions out of me from deep within, and it comes the tears like a river, a river that never stops until the music is over. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing, all I know is that I cannot thank him enough for doing something not even a trained professional could do. All I can say to him is, thank you, I love you, because no one else has been able to do what you’ve done for me.

Bless your heart. As someone who'se had depression, with lots of therapy, I'm so happy you've found such a beautiful outlet for your pent up emotions. Only real men cry! That's the saying, and that's truth. You have found a way to heal the inner traumas you have inside. And to cry the tears of a man who has empathy for the beauty in Josh's songs. It's a good thing! Josh's voice can't be matched, in my opinion. I always end up in tears, too. Sometimes sad, sometimes happy and sometimes I've no clue what I'm crying about! As you say, I always feel lighter and better afterwards. I hope you continue to be ministered to by this beautiful music

It hurts, deeply, being the person who has to reject an unrequited love, too!! . 35 years ago, I was part of a big group of friends. We were young and attended the same Church. They'd all come to my flat, afterwards, for supper. I had fallen deeply in love with one of the guys. I didn't think he felt the same way ( he did!). I didn't want to tell him and, potentially, lose his friendship. We shared a lot of time together, and we became very close friends and confidents. Within this group was an older man .Quiet, kind, shy, We were friendly but didn't spend any time alone. I liked him but that was all. We hadn't shared a single 1:1 conversation even. He then visited and declared his love for me. I had NO idea he harboured these feelings for me. I couldn't say anything, except the old chestnut, " it isn't you, it's me" and "I'm very flattered..." I said I couldn't feel the same way. He asked if I had feelings for someone else, Yes was the obvious answer. He was VERY, VERY deeply hurt and I felt so awful. I was guilt ridden, and he didn't speak to me again. After about 18 months, I married the 'friend' who is my soulmate. The other man attended our Wedding Service, then moved away. It hurts to know I was the source of his broken heart, even though it was unintentional ( other people, who knew us both, seemed to delight in telling me how much pain he was in 😢). I pray he met a girl, who would become the love of his life, and is happy
