Ingredients
1 cup of broken wheat / dalia
1 tbsp of oil
1 tsp of mustard seeds
½ tsp of cumin seeds
1 tsp of urad dal
2 dry red chillies
3 sticks of curry leaves
½ tsp of hing
2 chopped green chillies
1 medium sized onion
1 chopped carrot
1/4th cup of chopped potato
1/4th cup of green peas
½ tsp of turmeric powder
Salt as per taste
Take a pan and add 1 cup of broken wheat / dalia. Dry roast it for 5 to 6 minutes and then keep it aside.
Then in the same pan and add 1 tbsp of oil and then add 1 tsp of mustard seeds, ½ tsp of cumin seeds, 1 tsp of urad dal, 2 dry red chillies, 3 sticks of curry leaves. Fry it for a minute. Then add ½ tsp of hing, 2 chopped green chillies, 1 medium sized onion and fry this for 2 minutes. Then add 1 chopped carrot, 1/4th cup of chopped potato, 1/4th cup of green peas and fry this for 3 minutes and then add ½ tsp of turmeric powder and the salt as per taste. Fry this for another 3 minutes and then add 3 cups of water and let it start boiling. Then add the broken wheat / dalia and mix it well. Cover it with a lid and let it cook for 5 minutes. Then remove it and Let it cook for 2 more minutes.
