5:45 Something to note about MF movement speed: It stays as long as she has not taken damage, even within a fight. This is one of the main reasons why Bloodthirster is being built on her since the movement speed does not get removed if the BT shield takes damage.

@@strategsc2 there is a lot of small chip dmg in the game that will remove your ms. Enemy has undending despair? Deals 80 dmg in a 650 radius, gone. Fighting in a minion wave creep aggros you, gone. You side step Shen taunt but his sunfire burns you, gone. Stray commet, gone. Touched a Malignance pool, gone. Ludens proc etc. etc. etc.

1:10:46 I know why many lower level players struggle with Swain E. Swain’s E was troublesome for me because its root has a small AOE when it hits minions. For example, at a basic level spacing against an Ahri Q involves tracking Ahri and knowing the projectile’s range/speed, but if you only pay attention to Swain’s positioning and the E projectile you will get caught out by it bursting on minions at a distance where you would have been fine in the open. I struggled against Swain’s E for a long time but as soon as I realized that, Swain matchups lost the fear I had for them. Could be a concept to make sure any students struggling with Swain understand.

Swain E is one of the few abilities that took me a few games to get used to dodging. Almost every skillshot in botlane can be backstepped, and backstepping is almost always the correct choice for an ADC since it puts you out of range, but swain E has an AOE hitbox at the end that extends past the actual animation making it deceptively far reaching. The only choice you have is sidestepping it 90% compared to swain.

Twitch not being on the ADC list is a pretty accurate depiction of his current state Also Xayah is the best tempo ADC in the game, MF can't even come close to taking jungle camps and waves in 3-4s per unit. You literally onetap midwave, throw qw while walking past jungle camp, your E executes it while youre walking botlane, and then you onetap botwave. The amount of damage you provide to objectives is also top1 in the game, along with the ability to stack 10+ feathers to smite the objective, legit jungle diffing every objective in a nutshell

I think the terminology of "100-0" or "100% HP trades" at 5:15 and 48:55 should've been explained a little better imo. Because I feel like that naming convention implies "a trade in which someone loses 100% of their HP" or an all-in, when in reality I think what Charlie is trying to explain is the opposite of that. I understood it as "you only take short trades when your champion has 100% HP". Was a bit confusing to follow I think. Other than that great episode as always guys. Really enjoyed it :)

hahaha -- it's because in the community it's an understood concept. 100-0 trades are basically trades where you deal dmg but enemy does 0% dmg back to you, so it's basically just poking without taking dmg.

Hi Curtis, Nathan and Charlie! Forgive me for waffling, im cooked as lmao, I recently found the podcast via randomly finding Curtis's channel, and his video about playing in bronze, and the growth of his understanding 2 years later had me hooked. I love the mentality you have with the game, I have forever thought I was the only person that hated the cliche advice that didn't help. I hated the "Learn to farm, Learn to control waves, Learn to play safe" because it's just not helpful. I used the example to my wife the other day, "Its like your english teacher in school saying "Okay guys, learn to read!" and you just sit there wondering, okay, how? what are words? and they just say "Learn to read a book!" without even explaining what letters are. I fucking love the way you guys talk about the game, I admire the attention to detail, specifically your Syndra guides Curtis, have been incredible. I have been wanting to play adc for so long but I just cannot seem to grasp the lane with 4 people in it, It feels like too much to manage and I am an emerald player lmao. I enjoyed seeing Curtis chat with LS, as I personally disagree with the way LS talks about the game specifically in lower elos, I love LS for pro play analysis, which is mostly what he does, but when he speaks about low elos and helps new players (other streamers etc) with the game I think he has just a massive disconnect. I saw Ludwig recently saying that he can't unlock his camera to scan lanes when ganking because he plays as if he is playing a single player game. Which is exactly what LS said to do. Anyways, i love the content guys, and I appreciate you all for the effort you put into teaching people how to just be better people overall. Also P.S, Charlie was wrong about AD Kaisa, its so good to play i swear. Majority of people even Master+ are going hybrid builds mostly. but he reserved the right to have spat his bullshit so it's okay x

I think ADCs have a hard time dodging swain E because the most dangerous position to be in is right at the edge of the skillshot which also lines up with most ADCs auto range. I've found if I really want to make swain miss E it helps to get a little bit closer to him and then it's easy to dodge because you can still be moving out of the way while it's swinging back to him.

D3~D2 NA Bot Smolder rn. Peaked around 200-ish LP last split and ended around 100-ish playing him Bot before he got nerfed and changed because of his solo lane presence. Smolder's great at short trades in the early game using his Q. Has a massive mid game dip where you try to collect waves. Landing ult is very important to deal dmg pre-225. Once you hit 225 without going behind, Smolder likes slow front to back fights where he can slowly pump out Q and W. Can also follow up good engages by pressing R. Champ never falls off and is still a menace in late game. Builds are still being cooked, but I feel I've settled on a couple of main ideas. -You can take Comet 90% of the time and have a good laning phase outside of the absolute bullies like Cait Lux, Draven/Kalista, etc. -Biscuit JOAT > Yellow 2ndary -Take Manaflow or PoM and go Hubris > ER -Buy HP/Defensive if you get out of laning ahead; buy dmg if you get out of laning behind (really bad situation, but the only cope available). -Ahead build example: Hubris -> BC -> Shojin -Behind build example: Hubris -> ER -> LDR ER vs Hubris rant; ER is still a fine item just the passive is wasted if you have any mana runes or buy tear, BUT it's still VERY stat and gold efficient for Smolder and is the only item with all of the stats he loves (AD, CR, AH), so it's a reasonable buy if you need cost efficient damage asap. Also totally reasonable to buy ER 1st still, but am a Hubris believer because it's only slightly worse in dmg by mid-late game, but pulls ahead MASSIVELY the moment the passive activates.

one note about the xayah W interaction with rakan discussed at 39:05 : xayah's W actually gives rakan the movespeed she gets too, not just the attack speed. I've used it to give my rakan enough speed to catch an enemy ADC before. still not the biggest interaction, and I agree that they're still a pretty weak duo, but thought it was important to note!

great episode but at 47:34 , as an urgot main i haveto mention that urgot and caitlyns power spikes are literally opposite one another. with urgot being one of the strongest midgame spiking champions because of his passive, and caitlyn being far weaker in the midgame compared to any other point in the game since she needs items. league of graphs winrate by gametime shows this really nicely where urgots highest wr/game time is at 20 min and falls off after, and cait is the opposite where her lowest wr/game time is 15-20 min and steadily rises afterwards

Kai'sa has the join the fight advantage that so many ADC's Lack. The jungler on talking about how he doesn't fear the immobile, but fears Kai'sa is a big tip off there. It really comes down to if MF or Jinx aren't there when the fight starts they probably won't be there when it ends, but Kai'sa can join from half (hyperbole, I don't know the actual units she can travel) a map away.

This take is aboht teamfights. In lane you rocket the casters to get push and swap to minigun. In teamfights or when you go for one rocket on enemy adc, PoM will regen all the mana you need.

If IWD got top 10 on OCE server but it takes him months to get challenger on NA, how good actually is that server? Surely low Master tier OCE is like D3 in NA ? Or am I off

Mages bot are pretty weak pre 6, but their ability to combo off of cc from supports in lane is so strong + the items are cheaper and a little stronger for the first few dragon fights. It eventually falls off when adcs catch up at 2-3 items, but you have a long time in the game to get advantages. Also, solo laners love playing AD champs anyways, so it lets them do their thing and you can snowball so many games. Other adcs not mentioned: - Sivir imo is pretty similar to Jinx, but maybe a bit more support agnostic and a nice counterpick. Waveclear extraordinaire, great teamfighter. - Kog is honestly more of a lane trading bully than the late game carry a lot of players think he is. His range is crazy but he really falls off cause of mobility and no crit. - Vayne is so bad in lane and wave management that you better be really damn good at her to make up for it. Enchanter supports are almost more mandatory for her than for Kog even. - Tristana is interesting. I think she's a bit unknown, since they shifted her power away from solely being an early game all in monster. Not really sure how she'll shake out in the meta. Very matchup dependent. Sorta plays like Jinx with reset potential and generally being opportunistic. - Zeri is pretty weak right now. Imo there's a lot of benefit to one-tricking her, as I see so much power from players who know her all-in potential very exactly (similar to Kaisa players). - Twitch got the Riot Special of both champ nerfs then item nerfs. He's incredibly tied to botrk strength, and crit isn't very strong either. Weak in lane and then you have to know exactly who you can go after to get picks. More of a counterpick, terrible blind. - Nilah is a counterpick champ. She has some of the most insane matchup swings (+9.5% against Yasuo bot, -10% against Seraphine bot). But her kit is very unorthodox, so it's hard to have it practiced well just for counterpicking.

As a Kai’Sa main I’d like to give an advice of what to do when you have a mage or a Janna I just build HoB and LS build and works for me honestly but in those cases I’d play Trist which is just great with enchanters right now or Ez that works great with mages hehe im not high Elo im just plat1 but thats how i make it work when i cant avoid those scenarios

Ashe is getting some meaningful changes in next patch. Her passive does not need an auto or w to allow her the bonus damage but she'll have to invest in crit to make use of it, and w will be adjusted so the carry potential might be better.

My main complaint as a adc in really low elo (iron 1, bronze 4) is that the supports dont support at all. I see a lot of supports playing carry champs and just forgoing the duties of a support as peeling, warding and trading with the adc. They play part of the laning phase then go take side waves and become another top or mid, while i stay alone trying not to die as i farm or in the teamfights as the tanks or assasins jump at my face and melts it

Miss fortune has real and clear drawbacks. She's too mana hungry for mid and her only defensive option is speed and e, and her waveclear isn't strong especially compared to mages. That and lethality items weren't good enough on her to make up for it

- Mana hungry - Can't really all in mages like Zeri/Trist/Lucian do, to beat them into submission - Bad into high range - Low waveclear, hard to take priority when your only option for waveclear is Q - Not great at tower taking - Low teamfighting potential - Low skirmishing potential outside of maybe E slow - Atrocious scaling into frontliners (extremely low DPS), low range makes it near impossible to hit backline - No mobility, so good luck playing against Syndra/Ahri/LeBlanc - No sidelaning, which was half the point of ADC mid - Low damage to objectives - No high skill ceiling abilities / outplay potential - Boring af lule

The core four I really enjoy playing are Ashe, Caitlyn, Sivir and Xayah I generally am blind picking Ashe always, my absolute favorite champion to play. I only feel good as samira if i sit under an illaoi, morde, Swain and etc. voli too. Low elo deathball fights are great for her.
