That's the main reason Gojo is so strong, for example, because he KNOWS how strong he is, so he's comfortable with bragging to people who he KNOWS are weaker than him because he KNOWS everything will be fine. Homelander goes too far in that direction. He believes himself to be invincible while refusing to even comprehend the idea of him not being the best, meaning that if he's exposed to such a reality, his whole ego will crumble. His sense of self is fragile, which means he might not even be able to turn into a curse in the first place, and if he does, that curse will be extremely unstable.

Even if Butcher hold Megumi's sister hostage, there are countless ways for characters to save her and kill Butcher at the same time. Gojo aside, anyone between first and second grade could do it. Yuji, Nobara, Todo and others. Todo could just teleport them apart, beat Butcher and wouldn't even remember the fight since it's not that challenging. Yuji could just Piecing blood at him, Dismatle him or just speed blitz him before he can even react. Nobara need some trick and preparation due to her CT, but otherwise, she still save Megumi's sister. Maki can just speed blitz him, again. Hell, most characters can just speed blitz him. Inumaki would just say "don't move" and separate them, tell butcher "shit your pants and eat your shit, then k*ll yourself" and Butcher is done.

about homelander's speed feats: 1) let's clear this up once and for all; the escape velocity is the speed at which an object's centrifugal force surpasses the gravitational pull, satelites orbit at this speed to remain in orbit without using up energy. when a character capable of flight goes to space HE DOES NOT NEED TO REACH THE ESCAPE VELOCITY SIMPLY BECAUSE HE CAN ALREADY DEFEAT THE GRAVITATIONAL PULL WITH HIS FLIGHT, you can get to space by going as little as 0.1 km/h, it would take thousands of hours to get there, but you could do it. so repeat after me A CHARACTER CAPABLE OF FLIGHT DOES NOT NEED TO REACH THE ESCAPE VELOCITY TO REACH SPACE, HE CAN SIMPLY GET THERE AT ANY SPEED HE/SHE WHISHES TO AND THEN CONTINUE FLYING JUST AS HE/SHE WOULD DO ON THE GROUND. 2) the C4 bomb feat is quite ambigous for me because it looks like there is a delay between the activation and the actual explosion AND that the show has shown us pretty well what happens when supes that move at supersonic speeds interact with normal human. so the way I interpret it is that there was a slight delay (less then 1 second) between the detonation and the explosion and homelander simply got in the way of the explosion, tanked most of it and that's how he saved Butcher.

"ridiculousness" isn't a convincing argument. for example, i have base butcher with a crowbar btfo'ing naqib. it may seem dumb and weird at a glance, but the show would actually be very inconsistent if that wasn't the case. handwaving feats you don't like is the coward's way out, and it leaves you with worse interpretations of the show. so what specifically do you think is an inconsistency? i wonder if it's something i have an answer for.

I do think tho the mk1 version of homelander wipes jjk, because he's the homelander that is more powerful, skilled in fighting and has the experience to fight someone stronger than him. He would be the only exception to be a dangerous threat to the others. But his comic/show version loses badly. Well made video, keep it up👍

Usually when The Boys is put in crossverse people think of Homelander/The Seven and they get crushed immediately but there are other characters that could take on the JJK gauntlet. The main one (well I guess ones) I think of is/are Victoria Neuman and Marie Moreau with their Blood Manipulation/head popping because their powers function in a much more fantasy shonen like sense than traditional western superhero powers like super strength or something that can be immediately counteracted. I think they’d mess up a lot of characters before getting to ones that are super durable and then are fast enough to avoid them/figure out what’s happening or use RCT to regen the blown up limbs.

@@blobbowo Is safe to say that the metal straw only hurted him because It hit his ear, which also already happened to Superman for example cuz that is his most sensitive spot to hit due to his super-hearing. That said, I don't think this makes Homelander or Superman debunked, because it's the same as you hitting a man in his genitals hard enough and saying it won't hurt, because it clearly does.

A large misconception I tend to see is that no wepon can harm Homelander. Where as it only says they failed to kill him, meaning he could have just avoided some of the higher end things

Homelander combat speed should be sub mach one with the bombs being an outlier. Considering he was being pressured by both billy and soilder boy, who aren't speedsters and are leagues slower than A-train. This sub mach 1 combat speed is just more consistent especially with the queen mave stuff considering all these characters are slower than a train and homelander should be 18 times faster he shouldn't be getting hit unless this speed is just when he flys.

Billy (with comp. V), Maeve (post-training) and SB just upscale from that feat, that's power scaling for you. There's literally nothing suggesting that they're slower than A-train, much less SB who's actually nearly as strong as Homelander, who's >> A-train's speed casually.

@@jx8903 but that doesn't work, we see characters get casually blitzed by a train who while being weaker than these characters aren't blitzable neither are these characters also seen being able to move or run at the same speeds as him, also narratively it doesn't track Starlight is one of these characters with a train being able to perceive her in slow motion while soldier boy sees her in the same way as the rest of the cast

I almost never comment on youtube shit but i felt you deserved one for the sole fact that you're one of the only fucking people I've EVER heard on this damn website who does these hypothetical match ups that seems to correctly understand the difference between TRAVEL speed and REACTION/COMBAT speed and actually acknowledges the concept of Aim dodging. so sick of everyone else finding every bs justification they can to say all their favorite characters can move 10000000000000000000000000000 times the speed of light cause they sneezed once and the sneeze reflected light but they had a shadow on them so the light didn't touch them or equally stupid shit like that lol. Props. I do have a couple counter thoughts tho, not that they disagree with the final thought of who wins First I don't think you can really fairly say anyone that can use a domain can beat Homelander's ass through pure energy output. Hiruguma is a perfect example. Yes you have to have a large amount of cursed energy to use a domain but that doesn't always mean they can just blast out that much force anytime they want fighting normally. While yes there's a good number of people that could stand up to or even kick Homelander's ass purely thru physical ability augmented with cursed energy reinforcement Not EVERYONE that has high curse energy levels could do so. I think it really comes down to more that this is a battle less of power vs power but more power vs Jojo stand bullshit (Said with love). Cause no matter how powerful someone is with cursed energy they're all limited in how they can apply it based on their own curse technique. Take Todo for example. he's definitely one of the stronger not-god tier people in the show; has huge amounts of cursed energy and amazing control. but he doesn't actually have the kind of destructive power needed to really hurt homelander; at least not in the same way that you describe. because it doesn't matter if Todo has sukuna levels of cursed energy if his only real method of output is "punch" and "boogie Woogie" which is a purely support and non destructive ability. also i would argue some of the destructive/durability feats for Jujutsu are kinda iffy when applied to homelander, not that it really changes the argument overall. mechamaru's canon for example is an attack of pure cursed energy and Panda blocked it with pure cursed energy cause they cancel out. I'd argue panda couldn't make himself durable enough at that point to block a typical, non-cursed energy attack like that but it's a lot easier to block purely energy-based attacks when you can put cursed energy against cursed energy and cancel them out. Cause panda did say he burned out the core, not that it was like damaged by the attack which means he exhausted all it's energy not didn't block the attack fully. And they reinforce this difference between 'real' attacks and 'cursed energy' attacks when they talk about whats her name, I forget, the girl that uses the revolver that can manifest a real physical bullet with cursed energy. They made a huge deal out of how hard it is to make REAL stuff with cursed energy. So I'd argue that pure cursed energy attacks =/= their 'real' counterparts in relation to durability feats against other cursed energy users. So saying someone could block piercing blood if it had the force of a 50 calibur rifle i'd argue isn't necessarily the same as an ACTUAL 50 calibur rifle bullet being shot at them. Cursed energy reinforcement CAN reach that levels but it's an apples and oranges IMO. but back to the overall point is that with it being a 'jojo's' stand battle scenario it really just depends on what sorcerer Homelander is fighting. some he could probably beat the ass of purely by stats alone. Even when people can use cursed energy reinforcement to speed up that doesn't necessarily mean they can speed up their reaction times to the same degree. But then there are other people who would be objectively weaker than homelander that could basically one shot him because their powers are weird and he just has no way to stop them like Mahito so one hit and its an instant loss. ANd like you said homelander is a dumpster fire shit actual fighter and arrogant as fuck so basically anyone could land whatever they wanted on him at least once; which often would be all it takes.

Hey Ronin, you should make one with Aang and/or Korra. My initial thought is that, while they have great power, they would have trouble with the speed of the JJK charachters. But then I remembered lightning bending, and that characters in Avatar have an easier time reacting to lightning than Hakari in the fight against Kashimo, so this should be very interesting. Edit: they would also be able to hurt Mahito :D
