I just rented a furnished 2x2 condo in district 9 at Vin Homes, across from a new shopping mall for 10M. Washer, no dryer, 3 TV’s, full size fridge, a built-in desk to work.

Depends where you're from. He's from California like myself. A 2 bedroom luxury apartment in a nice city in California is like $3000 a month (double the cost of his apartment in Saigon) and you're not getting a view like that either.

@@bestly802 $3000 a month? wtf. Bro an apartment in garden grove isnt even that much. My mobile in garden grove by euclid street is only $1200 a month. What are these prices.
@bestly802

@@WorstPaperCut Why are you comparing prices of a mobile home in Garden Grove to a luxury apartment in California? It's like comparing apples to oranges. A 2 bedroom apartment like the one in this video if it was in California, would easily be $5000-$6000 a month. I know...it's sticker shock but that's how it is in the current inflated economy.

@@bestly802 i live in ca where 2 bedroom luxury apt such as the one in the video would be $6000+ and 1 bed would be $3500+. the one in the vid def looks high end but still its vietnam and i thought things were much much cheaper there but i guess times have changed

Not everyone only moves because things are cheaper. If someone has a lot of money and is financially free then they can spend what suits them

That’s a crazy price, but you will definitely pay extra for western perks. I personally live in a small city in the highlands and pay $200 for a small recently built modern house with a large yard. Just as nice as a home in Canada. Water and electricity is under $10 a month if I run a fan instead of air con.

I think it's a bit expensive. Last time we rented a 2-bed apartment in Quan 2 for $650 during a short 2-week stay. The place was furnished and had a similar nice view like this one. So $1500/month without furnitures is a bit expensive.

That unit normally goes for around $2,000 to $2,200 if furnished. Also there's literally nothing close to that condo complex within walking distance. It's like a ghost town. Not even a convenient store, I know the area well. Really not such a good location. D1 and D3 close to D1 are the best areas. You can walk to so many places. But it's best to take car taxis to avoid the air because the pollution is terrible.

@@MinhTran-mt3yj I live in Saigon and I'm telling you don't even think of buying. The prices are a joke. This unit in the video sells for around $700,000. Most of the units were bought with dirty money. I think you have no idea what's going on in Asia. Very corrupt. Be careful. Always rent in Asia, including girls.

These concrete boxes are being built by the thousands in Saigon, and as soon as you sign a lease in something like this, construction equipment will roll into the vacant lot in front of you, and you'll have construction noise 24/7, plus the bit of view you might have had, will be gone forever. Low expectation westerners will pay these prices, which is fine, but these places have zero personality, small bedrooms, a tiny useless balcony, but moving 1-2 km further away from downtown will save you half the cost or more. And please stop the California/Vietnam cost comparison; it's insane and annoying crap coming from ignorant morons who always know someone in California who's paying x-amount of dollars for whatever luxury apartment they've most likely never seen. It's all about 'cost of living', as in how long does it take to pay for whatever you need or want in life, and since the minimun wage in california is $20 (yes TWENTY DOLLARS PER HOUR), that's about 20X what an average worker makes in Vietnam; believe me I know, I see and talk to them often. So paying half in Saigon compared to what somebody is paying in California (San Francisco and parts of LA) makes you a moron and a dumb a.., or possibly just somebody who doesn't care and can afford to throw money out the window. There are awesome apartments and single family homes for rent all over Vietnam for way less of what people are paying in District 1 in HCM, and some are even smack on the ocean (no not in HCM). It's prestigious to live in District 1-2 for some weird reason I never could understand, but to each his own. In comparison it's also cheap to live in certain parts of the US, Spain, France etc, but it helps to have a bit of common sense combined with some good taste, and not just go for all that glitters, cause it aint necessarily gold. Cheers
