Outstanding video. Great point to call it as it is. I didn't know about the lighting either.

Thanks! I try to keep my videos to the point as much as possible, to be fair you can grow bromeliads in medium light but they just won't thrive or get nice colors.

Will you be doing a video on how you set up your enclosures? Like making the background and planting the tank. I also noticed you have tubes sticking out to drain excessive water and would like to see how it works.

Very helpful and informative! I put a few in the foam... is that okay? I put spag. moss around the root, should I take that off?
@TCSDartFrogs4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! They should root right to the foam, I wouldn't worry about the moss unless it stays super wet or you see any signs of decay or rot.

Great request video and well made! How do you keep your windows so clean!!!! Next request video incomming :D
@TCSDartFrogs4 жыл бұрын
They aren't always as clean as they appear in my videos, but I have quite a bit of ventilation on many of my tanks and that helps with condensation as far as algae growth and other dirt/grime I often use a razor blade to clean them and then polish with water and paper towels.

Great video! What light do you recommend for growing colorful bromeliads that require high light? I bought some broms that were grown in a greenhouse in florida. The colors were amazing when I got them but they have been faded in my viv since my Josh's Frogs leds cant compete with the Florids sun.
@TCSDartFrogs4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I really like the Finnex Planted Plus 24/7 LED, but I believe any high quality LED made for planted aquariums will bring out the colors if you really want the colors to be as bright as the sun would make them then you may want to invest in a really high end planted aquarium light like AI Prime, Kessil, or EchoTech.
@BriansAquariums4 жыл бұрын
@@TCSDartFrogs Thanks for the reply! So do you think the standard AI Prime for reef tanks would work? I have one of those. I may look into getting a Finnex.

@@BriansAquariums You could definitely try it, corals use different spectrums but they are still grow lights so wouldn't hurt to try it out.

My bromeliad is getting too big in my terrarium, how to trim?
@jeb43734 жыл бұрын
Hey Travis, how do you manage your humidity? I decided to use a pressure sprayer and water the vivarium manually. Since it's going to be my first vivarium, I'm afraid to overwater it. Do you have some hint on how to not overwater vivariums? Or would it be better to create some kind of wire tube at the ground of it, to which I can connect an small pump when I see it's ovewatered?
@TCSDartFrogs4 жыл бұрын
You know it is different for every vivarium, depending on ventilation, how often you are spraying, temperature and relative humidity in your area. I generally spray according to how my plants and substrate look. If plants start to wilt or droop it's too dry, you also want the substrate damp but not soaked. It is a good idea to have the option to pump/siphon out any excess water.
@jeb43734 жыл бұрын
@@TCSDartFrogs Thanks a lot for the answer, I think I will play it save with the vivarium and use some of the tricks I found on KZbin to make sure there will be no standing water in the drainage layer and I will watch the plants as you said. Your videos where a huge help and inspiration dude, thanks and keep up the great work.
