@@brilliantbikes Yes indeed! I did find a "skeleton" titanium lock for my black, titanium back frame and latest a black titanium seat post with a ring for the saddle, and wasting the heavy original Brompton clamp! Nice bike! I was on the waiting list for the CHPT3 with Brompton but their website crashed and now they've all gone :( It's a shame that Brompton are only focusing on special limited editions these days and not making the standard models available. I would have liked to have bought one, but will be buying a Tern Verge X11 now as it seems there's still a 6 month wait for a Brompton.

I'm so glad you called it "chapter". I had no idea what CHPT was all about. Do bikes have chapters? Do chapters 1 and 2 exist? Books and things like that where you expect them usually just say "Ch" don't they? Glad it's not just me being thick.

I've been riding this bike for about a month kzbin.infoUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and a half now and I think it's fantastic. It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.

I bought a $1,700 dollar Brompton two months ago from a Brompton retailer in NYC and was told I couldn't have the box because ” it was Brompton's policy" not to provide boxes because of rampant counterfeiting issues. Sooooo... I'm not always the brightest bulb in the bunch, but to me... It would seem a hell of a lot easier to create counterfeit boxes than it would be to create counterfeit Brompton bikes. Full disclosure.... They said they aren't provided with boxes either... Having said that... I'm still mad that I didn't get my box. I'm just saying.

Nothing special. The aluminium seatpost clamp and hinges are nothing compare to aluminium or titanium parts made by taiwan 🇹🇼 like ti parts , H&H, Ridea, Nov design. Brompton should at least ditch that 6 speed setup and move on to 3 & 4 speed external cog. More lighter and less work shifting gears. Brompton could design better with that CHPT3 printed on red. Why not have special emblem CHPT3 welded on the frame. I guess , i better wait for nickel titanium again if they ever built one.

AH mad: Certainly with you on the major ‘transmission’ upgrade. For touring.
@samuelbreton90613 жыл бұрын
The 6 speed setup with a 50t chainring give me gears rollout between 33" to 100". To get the same kind of top speed on a standard hub, I would need a 72t chainring with the 12t cog. For the lowest gear (16t) to be climbing as well as the internal geared hub, the chainring would need to be a tiny 33t. This is the main reason why internal hubs are needed on tiny wheels. Unless you redesign the whole rear end... Then you could go 72t chainring, and a 12-24-36 cassette... But I doubt the chain tensioner would be able to catch that much chain slack..
