Nice video again. Love the Christmas look. I regularly use my electric Brompton on forest paths and to date, it has been awesome, not quite a MTB but it is certainly doable. One has to have confidence though going down a gravel path in the forest, and a lot of faith the handle bars don't snap.

A brilliant real world review on the battery. Your stats of power and non are very interesting as it shows that the motor basically gives a extra 50% assistance.

Great video! I have been thinking of buying the electric Bromton as commuting to and from work in Manchester on overcrowded and unreliable Northern rail trains has become more than I can bear (Northern England has a really dreadful rail network!). My journey to work is about 8.5 miles and I can cut out most of the main arterial roads which is even better. Thanks for sharing your video!

Also does manual peddling increase the battery, because in some bikes, it is similar to charging while riding.. Is this possible on a Brompton ? Can the expert please share some knowledge on this issue?
@brilliantbikes4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching - and the comments / question Pedalling does increase the battery life - because the battery doesn't have to work so hard But it isn't like a car where power is put back into the battery (regenerative braking for example) - the battery s charged from the mains and power is used to assist your when riding

Loved it!

The Brompton electric makes a big difference especially when you have to climb a hill. The most important thing is that using the battery does not mean that you run out of power so quickly that you have to add stretches where you cannot afford to use electricity any more. If this is the case, the manufacturer should add a larger battery. Just wandering since battery power is changeable, would the same journey be improved if you carried another spare battery..Or, at no time was it ever necessary to change or load another battery because you had used too much power going up the mountain..and your trip was cut short because you had to stop battery altogether. I think the answer is that the present size of battery is more than adequate for a trip 80km long and you are fully or 80% charged...ie the smallish existing battery is enough for a trip 100km..without ever becoming short...If I don't have to plan too much in advance, if this existing battery is more than adequate for a 100km journey.. there is definitely "room to spare" in that small battery design of Brompton... There are so many other electric bikes where the electricity is so plentiful, you don't need to charge every night or worry that somehow, it will not last a day of full journey. Abit like the mobile phones from before Apple provided A14 chip or wireless charging, you had to rationalize your whole day, just in case your phone is now suddenly dead....So much more thinking is required...Let's say you are on a Hamiway, then you won't ever need to rationalize so much on the same trip.

Hi! I live in Tenerife, Canary Island. I would like to know if you recommend 6 speed whith electrical assistance to ride in a mountain roads (between than 6-10% trend). Also, if it's very hard pedal or ride without battery? Do you think is possible to travel with a battery by plane? Definetivelly, I falling in love with Brompton bike. Thanks for your usefull information about brompton bikes and your amusing videos. Cheers.

Why you want to buy an electric bike when you live on a small island and you can't take the bike with you when you travel by plane?
