Greetings from Singapore- one of the most honest reviews of a bike. Especially the bit about the reduced gearing. 😊

Thank you, the range of gearing in very good and easily adjusted by different size chainring to suit your needs

I have found two strips with velcro and each having a bolthole for a bottle cage, to be combined on a Brompton! I also have a tool being able to ad a new thread in a hole, but still it involves drilling two holes in my frame or stem post before that, so I decided against it. As a Brompton Weight Watcher my much former than Superlight is presently down to around 8,5 kilo, without a rack, but mudguards, and with a superlight extender in the back for more stability. Finn. Thanks for posting your review. I love my B75 and adding a 39 tooth ring from SJS has made a difference for the terrain here in Lancashire. I have a Monkii cage from about 6 years ago like yours but I think the newest ones have two bands to attach to the stem.

I adjusted mine I the first week but nothing since, even after changing the gearing. Are you enjoying the bike?

Thanks for the video! Would you say it's made your Brompton electric redundant as well? Thanks
@NottinghamshireMadness Жыл бұрын
For independent lightweight riding it's made all bike's redundant

Hi Andrew, Just down the road from you in Chesterfield. Just about to buy my first brompton. Had intended buying a C-Line explore, however today felt the weight of the P-line hence google search and finding your video. Unfortunately no P-line demo bike to test ride. Your brompton knowledge and this video had REALLY helped me. Your comment “It’s made all my other bikes redundant” has really got me thinking I should get a P-Line. Would I be making a mistake buying the P-line as my first brompton? Also why did you switch out the chainring? Any help appreciated Kind regards Andy
@NottinghamshireMadness2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Andy I changed the chainring due to mg age, fitness, hill's and type of riding, I also changed two of the sprockets to increase the gear range. Find me on Facebook, your more than welcome to pop over and try mine

I think a P line - with a rack of course - is the one Brompton to have: not as expensive as the T line, but signifivantly less weight to carry than with a fully equipped C line. (Me being heavily rheumatic it hurts very much to lift the fully equipped 13,2 kg C line, 2kg less would probably make a significant difference.)
@NottinghamshireMadness5 ай бұрын
@@awbrompton2308 Yes it is a very significant difference

Hi, really cool video thanks. Did the Brooks saddle go straight on without changing the p clip please?

Presta valves do my head in.....pain in the arse. Glad you changed them. I would change the grips to ergon gp2 or gp3. I still see the gears as a problem with the standard stock gearing as too narrow (which is less than the standard 3 speed bromptons). My personal preference is a M6R-x superlight which isn't much heavier than the P line.....ill bring mine out soon so you can compare.
@NottinghamshireMadness2 жыл бұрын
That would be a great comparison to do.

@@NottinghamshireMadness Thank you for the response. Summer is hitting Michigan and I'm going with a bottle cage and this seems to be the most functional choice while I was researching

Hi Andrew On reviews there is some question on the gears slipping Have you had or heard of any issues ?
@NottinghamshireMadness2 жыл бұрын
Hi Garry. Just an 1/8 of a tune to tighten the gear cable, when I fitted the 44T chainring the chain came off when being carried folded so I have removed one link, no problems since. Thanks for watching and your comment.

I got an 8 speed shimano cassette from ebay, and dismantled it, ghis is so easy to do, I didn't even have to make any adjustments to the gear settings

Nice honest imformative video andrew. I have a b75 it's done about 3000 miles now and I love it mind you I'm a tad obsessed with it I clean and polish it at least onece a week and it's in my opinion a true brompton icon. And as for the muppets that pull it to bits well there beyond words . But such is life I can remember my old wing commander rideing his brompton to the mess and parking it out side with an essence of great pride Anyway I'm rambling on Bottom line andrew great video
@NottinghamshireMadness2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, isn't it great to be a none fashion follower 😀 The B75 and now A-Line are an absolute bargain! It seems the clever Brompton owners totally missed the ethos of the B75
@stephenmountain31262 жыл бұрын
Indeed it is andrew. People seem to need to conform To fashion . I think it displays a lack of individuality. If I like something I like it . And i will go with what i like. One must feel sorry for the people Who find it necessary to either conform or adopt an opinion of something purely based on the reaction of others. Providing your favour neither offends insults or upsets others why give a dam. I believe it's called individuality Something we british were onece Famous for.

Great review mate. I’m looking at buying a Brompton, love the look of the p lines, maybe even electric. Wouldn’t mind the c line to be fair but the simplicity of the 4 speed puts me off the c line.
@NottinghamshireMadness2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, it's worth getting to a Brompton dealer and trying them, take your time and work out your requirements, the A-Line is great fir general purpose, 6 speed is a good road/town bike replacement with the convince of folding and the P-Line is brilliant for everything. Thanks for watching and your comment 😀
