Without a doubt the "Cyclone Chubby IV Bike Trailer" is the best trailer to be used with a Brompton, if you do not plan to take children. Just for luggage and for your Brompton, and it is the ideal trailer to take on the plane, the best without a doubt in terms of weight and design. The only problem with the "Cyclone Chubby IV Bike Trailer" is the connecting arm, it has one end, when disassembled, ready for the hold of the plane, which could be damaged, hit by airline personnel and be a big problem in your destination trip, if it is damaged.

Nice video and nice place in France I've never heard of! As a swede from the area where Thule is from I never heard anyone say Thule like that 😀 In Sweden we say it like tu-le, the h is silent.

I had a similar problem attaching a B.O.B. Ibex trailer to a recumbent tricycle. After gaining the correct skewer the length was reduced to a flush yet rounded state with a hacksaw and file. Having no vise to hold the skewer for sawing I instead used vice grips as a handle to immobilize it on the edge of a concrete stair for sawing.

Excellent video, thanks a lot for sharing! I was on the fence on Brompton as a vehicle for moving kids around, but after your video - I am planning to give it a try with my P-line! Quick question - do you know whether other child trailers, like Burley Bee / Honeybee will have the same attachment point design, so the extended skewer solution you had shown will work for them as well? Thanks!

Based on the details I could find: there is no side ventilation for this Chariot Cross model. How warm was inside during your summer trips?

Hello Hannah! We do have a Thule Chariot Sport 1 and think about buying a Brompton Electric C Line 4 Speed. What parts do we need if we want to use the same setup like you?
@brilliantbikes6 ай бұрын
We just used the connector that came with the Thule Chariot and a road skewer, like this one brilliantbikes.co.uk/quick-release/4362-hope-road-130mm-quick-release-rear-skewer-orange.html I think we mention on the video would put a washer between the skewer and the rear triangle to prevent the paint being worn. Hope this helps and thank you for watching!!

Hello, could you make a video about repair stands for brompton? I'm currently wavering between Park Tool 9.3 and 10.3, but maybe there are better alternatives. Unfortunately I don't have a Brompton tree, and can only do repairs in the living room with limited space. Thank you very much

I’ve been considering the pros and cons of a trailer vs panniers and can’t decide whether there is an advantage in towing luggage as opposed to carrying it. Obviously the weight of the trailer is added to the luggage making a greater overall load, but the mechanical advantage of the trailer wheel(s) will offset this somewhat. Have you any thoughts?
@brilliantbikes8 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the comment. TBH I’d rather not pull a trailer unless it was for reasons of our daughter enjoying the ride.

Bought a cheap single seated Burley trailer that I converted to my dog trailer and been using last summer. All I need need now is to find a cheap 16” wheelset too to match that Brompton wheels too as currently it’s on 20” as well like yours.

@ape-krishna37978 ай бұрын
Harry

May i ask Is all brompton same rear fender?
@brilliantbikes2 ай бұрын
Hi - thanks for watching and for the question The easy answer is no The original Brompton (now called the C Line) had a choice of two: For bikes with a rack For bikes with no rack (even further back there was each of these available with a small notch cut out for users of bottle dynamos) The Electric C Line used a different mudguard The P Line / T Line uses another different one (to go with the advance rear frame) The G Line uses a different mudguard again So it's necessary to choose the right mudguard for your model of Brompton Hope that helps
@eegaugh8 ай бұрын
Liked. Not sure about the soundness of interposing a washer between adapter and dropout. Overlong skewers can, of course, be modified but I suspect that the original threads may be rolled rather than cut.

Would it have been better to put the nut on the other side? If that nut loosens then your child rolls off immediately if the whole of the skewer had to work its way out you have a little better chance.
@brilliantbikes8 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! The trailer has a built in safety cord, so it is not going to come off. The adapter ends to be on that side and the quick release skewer cannot go the other way due to the adapter
@macola19708 ай бұрын
@@brilliantbikes Correct answer, trailer connectors are always installed on the opposite side of the adapter / derailer / rear wheel shifting system.
