This event was recorded from a point of view that many of you have been asking for. There are a number of reasons why I do not shoot from behind the chutes on a regular basis and I will soon explain why in another video that I will make available only to channel members. Yes, this channel will soon offer a membership option where I will provide videos exclusively to members. Stay tuned for the big announcement!

Because this is a ranch rodeo and competing under the #WRCA rules. No marking out required, may grab the saddle horn on the standard ranch working saddle and must wear traditional western clothing including chaps.

I covered a few of the Ben Johnson Days in 2021 and the results are on this channel. I plan to return in 2022 and spend the whole week there. I also worked with Cody Garnet to help promote the Ben Johnson Cowboy Museum and I am subscribed to the museum's channel. Good stuff in Oklahoma and if my channel keeps growing,, I intend to spend more time there.

Why do you like rodeos? It’s abusing horses! It will hurt the horses! And it’s really really stressful for the horses! I love horses so much! I even take horse back riding every Saturday! It could kill them by getting slammed into the wall and it could trip them…

I noticed riders using a strap attached to the saddle which the rider grabs with his hand & where he is using the rein. Since when do the riders using both hands to stay on? They should be using their hand & arm to balance & being penalized for allowing that free hand to touch the horse or his saddle.

This is a #WRCA sanctioned event where ranch bronc rules apply. These riders work for the ranches their teams represent. They are required to use their own ranch saddle on their mounts and they have wives and kids to support on a meager ranch wage. The broncs they ride are not as big and wild to ride as those used in pro-rodeos. These working cowboys are expected to go right back to work once the rodeos are over.

I noticed that there is a lot of flack on here about abuse. People are quick to speak before educating there selves on the subject at hand. This style of riding goes back to the days of when ranch hands had to break horses the hard way. They didn't have time to slow break a horse back then, because they had a job to do. It's just a matter of tradition. From my experience from riding horses that have bucked and riding bulls, I've always found it easier to use a free hand for balance and learn to move with the animal. Watching the PRCA saddle bronc riders is like watching poetry in motion. It's a art, and the horse is born with bucking bloodline, that's what they are born to do. But, I'm out of all that and now slow breaking a horse is a much better option. However, not all horses can be slowly trained, especially a alpha horse. Keep the old days alive, and don't let them die. Some people just don't understand, and you know what they say about opinions.

@DustyReinsStories

There is always the possibility of injuries in every physically demanding sport... period. That is why every sanctioned rodeo is required to carry insurance, and there are EMTs on site to care for humans and a veterinarian on site to care for the livestock. Plus, there are always rodeo and law enforcement officials on hand to deal with any people who cause harm to other people or animals. It's the same as other pro sports like football, basketball, or hockey except that the animals should also be respected and well cared for.

They’re obviously distressed and uncomfortable. They are desperately trying to get this sensation off them by excessively bucking. This is plain abuse and should not be romanticised at all. None of this is ethical, kind or should be performed at all. These poor young horses are being exploited all because of entertainment. It’s truly sad how some people don’t find this disgusting.

I have talked to many of the stock contractors in the last 20 years and none of them have had any deaths of their stock either. Perhaps you are referring to the bullfights in Spain? I encourage you to provide any evidence that would back up your claim.
