Nice, clear and concise information. I also like the fact you used what looks like a piece of the stone wall as your tire chock. When you are off road rocks and firewood often become chocks or even tools when needed. The step by step tutorial should give others both the confidence to do this as well as an understanding of what they are into. Great job!😁

I like the way you rested the spare on the bumper as you wrangled it on the carrier. I may or may not be prone to off road by myself. I had some misgivings about getting a Sasquatch tire up on the tailgate by myself. A trailer hitch might also make this easier.
@JonathanGonzalez-wv8mc8 ай бұрын
Hey love your video, you taught me a lot. I’m currently at 27k and each time my tires have been rotated by the dealer, they’re not rotating the spare. I assume it’s too late to start doing the 5 wheel rotation. Is this something I should have asked my dealership or should they have known?
@TLOverlander8 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment 👍🏻 From what I've been hearing, most/all dealers will just rotate the 4 road tires. Easier for them that way as the truck is 5 feet in the air on a lift. You can ask them... But they'll likely charge you more... And I've heard of at least 1 other person who was told the dealer rotated all 5, but only did 4! (He marked the spare). If you have 25k kilometers on it, you'll maybe be fine. 25k miles, you'd be risking it. If you plan on going with the same tires as what you're running now when these wear out, I'd just keep going with the 4 wheel rotation. Hope that helps!

Do you have any issues with tire balance after rotating? If so how do you determine where to put the clip on balance weights? In additon does the TPMS automatically pick up for the 5th tire? Thank you.
@TLOverlander5 ай бұрын
@@jasonfanphotography the TPMS will in fact pick up the new wheel location after some miles. If you're tire is out of balance, you need a tire shop rebalance it on a balance machine. You can just guess at the location. With that said, the Goodyear sasquatch tires can have pretty poor QC. I had to have one (brand new) one replace for wub-wub noise while driving. It wouldn't balance.

Interesting your diagram, and I don't think it matters as long as you continue to follow that pattern, most diagrams for what is called a Rearward Cross pattern, has the diagram flipped. So the spare goes onto Right Rear, not the left rear. But again, it doesn't matter as long as you use the same diagram. I rotate my tires at each oil change including the spare.
@TLOverlander2 күн бұрын
@@mikesveganlife4359 yeah, really doesn't matter as long as you keep going the same direction. My concern would be someone who does this, then the next time has the shop do it, and maybe go backwards...? Lol

I want to compliment you on NOT USING AN IMPACT WRENCH/GUN at any point!!!!!!! Nothing says amateur, idiot, or "don't give a shit" than using an impact wrench when either removing or installing lug nuts. Nice vid!!!
@TLOverlander Жыл бұрын
Thanks man... Funny story... Years ago, I was having some OZ Racing rims put on my SVT Focus. Numb nuts at the tire shop hits the studs with the impact, all 4 corners, THEN grabs the torque wench.... "Click!" "Oh, look at that... Got 'em right on!" His co-worker looks at me waiting for my reaction..... I just left, and retorqued the lugs when I got home. Not even Smart enough to work at a tire shop 😒
@stereopolice Жыл бұрын
@@TLOverlander He said he got it right on LOLOLLOLOOLLLO - got it waaaaaay of F over that is!!!! Not only that, impact wrenches can mess up the rims and the lug nuts, and a over-torque can warp the rotors !!!!! OMG the fun never ends. A lot of folk with warped rotors do it to themselves.
