I appreciate and agree with Brou’s perspective on the role Russ played in his own downfall. That said, I ALSO think that he’s been unfairly scapegoated in the last few weeks. He struggled against Detroit, but not NEARLY as much as his defense-which allowed 5 passing TD’s to Jared Goff (who’s had a good season, but…jeez). Detroit’s ground game also ran all over them. And there’s no excuse for a good defense to fail to contain Bailey Zappe at home with so much on the line. But yeah, sure, let’s bench Russ.
