We are a team with a very good defense and an offense that can't close the deal. Veach made a big mistake not paying for WRs. I think last year made him over confident that Mahomes could make it work without star WRs. I hope he learns his lesson. Without WRs teams just triple team Kelce and shut it down. To think how good this team with a great defense, great running game and great TE would be if we had a #1 receiver. Bite the bullet next year and let Jones walk so we can sign a star WR. Higgins is a free agent!! Mike Evens on a 2 year deal?!?

This game shows exactly the reason why Green Bay let MVS go, he consistently drops huge passes. Also it feels a little bit like Green Bay with Aarod about 7 to 5 years ago where the Front Office thinks the Quarterback is so special he can win with anybody. Rodgers had Adams and Mahomes has Kelce. Obviously they have a really good defense but help the guy out a little and give him a consistent WR Core. Can't always be a two man show.

Agreed somewhat... Mahomes always has had an abundance of weapons on offense and an elite O-line with one of the greatest play callers in Andy Reid. And the Chiefs have made attempts to draft WRs in the 2nd round. Meanwhile the Packers drafted Aaron's backup in the 1st round after an MVP szn while Rodgers was playing behind a sorry O-line, so the Packers went and drafted 3 O-lineman all in the 6th round 😂😂

Let's consider the facts: 1) The Chiefs WR core has been lacking. 2) It was cold and raining, and that pretty obviously affected the passing game on both sides. It's not like Kelce usually has butterfingers. 3) The Chiefs threw the ball twice as much as the Eagles, despite having a pretty efficient running game working for once. At some point, you kind of have to expect coaching to stop putting their players into unnecessarily difficult positions, and just shift gears to something that actually works. If someone asked me before the game if I thought this Chiefs team would do well throwing it 40 times in the rain, I'd have said probably not.

Brou is 100% right about the Chiefs front office taking Mahomes greatness for granted. We saw it in Green Bay with Rodgers. Play with it if you want to, but if you dont give that man at least one legit WR, cherish those two rings, cause thats all hes gonna get. I love Mahomes. Hes the best qb ive ever seen. He was one drop away from beating the best team in football. But cmon. This offense is gonna get smoked in the playoffs.

The crazy part is the interception by Mahomes wasn't even his fault totally. Justin Watson ran the route incorrectly. After clearing the defender, he should have flattened off the route, but he drifted in space. Therefore, instead of running away from the defender and giving Pat a clear target, Pat was forced to alter the way he was going to throw it at the last second. This enabled the defender to undercut the route. At Wednesdays press conference, Pat (once again) put the blame on himself saying he should have thrown the ball to flatten him out, but the reason he had to throw it to flatten him out is because Walton didn't flatten his route. The only other things Pat could have done was run it or thrown it away, and people would have been saying he missed a wide open receiver in the end zone. Not that Watson ran a lazy route. If you want to see an example of what I mean, look at the touchdown that Justin Ross had against the Saints in the preseason and you will see how he flattened his route once he cleared the defender. This is how Watson should have ran his route.

Mahommes threw 43 times and had only 177 yard. If that was Lamar Mangini and Nick would have a field day. Ravens receivers had 8 pass drops and 3 TD pass against the Steelers but they blamed Lamar cuz he threw Int at the end. Where is the accountability for Mahommes?
@dennismenace1756

Hurts threw 155, a third on one pass and had one INT and zero TD passes. We can do this all day by pointing at bad games. Mahomes earned his respect to have zero doubt. Funny bringing up 8 drop passes, when the Chiefs have 25 dropped passes in 10 games and the Ravens have 13 drop passes in 11 games.

Everyone, instead of talking about the receivers dropping the ball, why don’t we address Mahomes FAILING to score points in the second half for like the 100th time this year 😂 every Qb has dealt with the receivers dropping the ball but Mahomes should be getting blamed the most since all his fanboys think he’s the next coming of Brady yet he can’t come up when it matters most, when has Brady ever had a stretch this bad? Exactly NEVER!!!

What’s hilarious is Brady didn’t have a great receiving core and dealt with the same thing Mahomes is dealing with in his last few seasons with the Patriots and Brady STILL won Super Bowls, Mahomes is NOTHING without great receivers to bail him out! Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett, washed Edelman and Gronk, Malcom Mitchell, Amendola thos are the receivers Brady had, Mahomes ain’t winning no Super Bowls with the same core of receivers Brady had

"If MVS didn't drop the ball and Patrick doesn't throw a pick, they win the game" - Yes, but the Eagles also had bad breaks. They just pulled through when it mattered. The Chiefs almost seemed to forget that there were 2 half to the game. The Chiefs absolutely dominated all first half. But the Eagles found a way to win. And that's what great teams do. They find a way. They don't quit. That's that.

Excellent take by Nick. I've become a Chiefs fan because I believed the hype that I was getting to see Michael Jordan and the 90s Bulls equivalent on the football field.
