WARNING: VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED. THIS VIDEO IS NOT FOR KIDS.
Being a fan of my little pony was a dangerous thing back in our childhoods. Entering a community filled with grown men making content for each other lead us to see a lot of disturbing stuff. In this video I uncover and discuss the ways that the Brony Fandom Traumatized Generation Z.

Genuinely surprised you didn't being up "Banned From Equestria" The game, cause when you mentioned the inflation flash game I was so sure you'd remember that one too. The fact that it was both free to play and people uploaded playthroughs of it without a warning was insane. If you don't remember, it's the game where you're a human sent to equestria (isekai I have no idea?) and your 'goal' is to... Get as many ponies pregnant as you can. The gamaplay aspect was just uncensored sex. Paraphrasing heavily since I literally haven't seen it since I was maybe 10? 11? so

meh, humanity is scary and Bronies as a subset thereof share many bad elements, but I'd say Bronies are usually better people than the average person, because they choose to break the social norms to enjoy a cartoon teaching overall good morals after all -- people are more willing to pick out an out-group to blame bad elements on, because it's less blackpilling than blaming the entire species they belong to, but creating 18+ content that children ended up being exposed to (accidentally in most cases, though there were some with malicious intent like the Smile HD video) is still thousand times less bad than wars or child/animal abuse which are unfortunately rampant among humans like, I'm generally against violent or sexual content including ponies, but it's still better than actual g0re with humans or violent p0rnography (unless ponies are used by psychopaths to work up the nerve or as some kind of substitute for such content with children (because ponies obviously have many infantile/innocent characteristics that attract all kinds of evil scum), but it'd be the same as complaining about self-described "animal lovers" because some of them hurt animals one way or another) I get where the criticism stems from, but imo there's a huge sensationalist element and it's often overblown e.g. people will find that some terrorist/mass-shooter had an MLP poster or liked the show at some point (to what extent they were a Brony during the shooting is arguable, as such acts go against the values of the show) and suddenly all Bronies are bad, but there are thousands if not more of humans committing evil like this every day and it's just a fact of life that they'll have hobbies and interests and sooner or later you'll come across someone who liked one of the most popular cartoons ever -- there were e.g. way more mass shooters who enjoyed Doom or probably violent media, but people only pull out the pitchforks when it's someone who at some point liked something innocent like MLP My Little Pony and the Brony fandom in particular are targeted, because they promote non-mainstream values of friendship, which most humans consider "cringy" (hence many hate campaigns, especially in the early years of the fandom, but even videos like this one could fall under concern trolling)

My experience as a 'pegasister': I grew up with the old MLP as a millenial, so when I saw the new pony generation, I thought it was adorable and watched the show whenever I was chilling at home. Eventually I started buying merch and becoming 'the weird pony girl' in highschool. My first interaction with mlp horror content was luna game, and instead of being scared of it, I was annoyed that they made pinky pie such a mean character and decided everyone making that kind of content hated mlp and wanted to make torture videos of the ponies to be 'edgy'.

Yeah, I was haunted by Banned from Equestria. I saw that at I think 9, and I myself am a late bloomer. What helped my was accepting I was a late bloomer and saw some nasty shit. And bit by bit, taking my Build-a-Bears of the ponies and saying goodbye. Acknowledging that those things I saw were horrific and made me feel sick. I have this like- weird memory from childhood. It was a cold morning, probably during spring or summer. My mom woke me up early and basically, I had to go to Grandma's apartment while she's at work. During the car ride, I was terrified, I think that it was from a nightmare I forgot. I remember that the sky was very pale? White? Not grey just, straight up white. When I arrived, I still had flashbacks from the nightmare, of rarity (who was my least favorite pony) killing me or other ponies? All I remember is the feeling of hiding behind a brown armchair, feeling cold, hungry (since I haven't ate breakfast yet) and absolutely fucking terrified. Not just like- the feeling you get after a jumpscare or even before it, or during it. It was a fear for my life. I find it odd, cuz there was barely any scary media revolving rarity (I was mostly a consumer of the ones with twilight sparkle and pinkie pie, and that fluttershy thing) so yeah.

That “an applejacks zombie animation” scared me when I was younger the worst part was I was scared of PVZ because it had zombie’s so I was probably a wuss back then but after seeing some of those vids when I was younger I seem to have lost a lot of the shock factor behind terrible events, I’ve seen few gory things recently but those I’ve seen it’s just nothing. That one video followed by the others I would watch of those “creepy pastas” honestly seem more creepy to me than any vid I have ever seen on the internet and my ceiling of scary was meat canyon that’s all I could take. Yeah my entire conclusion is the fact that probably without this vid I would honestly have no respect for anyone in that fandom; nice vid BTW.

As one of the edgy teenagers who was really into this kind of content at the time, let me psychoanalyze myself a little bit. I think many teens like I was are drawn to this kind of extreme violence & sexuality as a way of asserting their independence and to show that they're "mature adults". With pony content in particular, the "defiling" of an innocent & pure children's show is an even more explicit repudiation of childhood and immaturity than, say, horror movies. I did genuinely like the show, so it wasn't the only reason I got into the fandom, but I can't deny that aspect was a huge part of the appeal. Of course, now that I'm almost 30 I can see how immature this line of thought really is and I cringe at how I might have inadvertently contributed to childhood trauma by creating a demand for this kind of content. I was cleaning out my dresser recently and at the bottom I found my old 'Cupcakes' t-shirt (nothing explicit, just a pretty standard Pinkie Pie shirt with a cupcake that had a drop of blood coming out of it) and I shuddered.

As a former brony, I find this fascinating. For me, the darker side of the community was always something that I was aware of but never took part in personally outside of Fallout Equestria. Even back then there were concerns inside the community itself on how this may affect kids and it was discussed a lot but there were very few people from Gen Z and younger really involved in those discussions. It’s sad to see how far this actually went.

Exactly. Personally horror stuff in the MLP community didn't really affect me as much considering at that time I was getting close to my teen years. And not just that but also the fact that I knew it was fake and not from the actual show. I was still creeped out of course and exposed to certain creepypastas that 13-14 year old shouldn't have seen or listened to. But again I knew it was fake. But even still I do agree with the fact that young children should not be exposed to things like that. Parents should not give their kids access to the internet until they're at least 12 or 13 and/or have supervision. Honestly it's not even the show itself that's bad. It's the people and half of the brony community who make it bad and one of the reasons why the show unfortunately gets hate. :(

A few notes on the lil miss rarity thing: it was started as a uh,,, kind of a fetish blog? Where rarity learned from opal scratching her is that she liked the pain, and started purposefully hurting herself for pleasure. The story goes extremely off the rails at some point and deals with gods destroying the world because they fell in love and they're not supposed to exist in the same dimension or it will collapse and rarity desperately wants to have children so that opal doll comes to life and bursts out of rarity like she was being born to rescue her from prison and applebloom dies and there's a lot of scenes that personally made me start sobbing. Honestly worth a look into since the fetish-y stuff is entirely on the backburner.

Thing is when I was a kid I was super into creepypastas about generally cute franchises, like mlp or Pokemon. Maybe this has something to do with societies pressure for all things boys to like to be cool and filled with murder but regardless. While as an adult now I feel bad for people who feel traumatized, when I was a kid I loved it. I definitely don't think I was the only one who found the juxtaposition of cute thing + creepy thing nothing more than funny even as a kid. There definitely were things that scared me but I was also intrigued by them and I think that's natural. This is only on the violence side, porn is different. Some how I generally avoided porn or if I saw it I was so Christian scared I clicked off. I think our wierd infatuations as a kid are laughable but also shape who we are, and as long as you now realize, oh that was a little fucked there's nothing wrong with that. If anything it makes great talking pieces.

You know as a kid who also loved creepypastas at the same time, I can't say the horror stuff bothered me too much. BUT, the oversexualization was a real problem. I unfortunately ran into Banned from Equestria if anyone remembers that. Ugh. Edit: tbh it's not the sexualization itself that I have a problem with, you hang out in fandom spaces long enough you know that's a constant. I don't care that people wanted to fuck the candy colored magical horses, I care about how easy access it was for a kid like me to stumble upon. As a kid, I found a playthrough of Banned from Equestria right here on KZbin uncensored; it was recommended to me because I was a 12 year old kid who liked mlp and mlp videos. Clips of the show itself sat right next to Banned from Equestria. When it comes to fandoms surrounding kids media there's GOT to be a better way to do this, because it's really not cool for kids to who are just fans of the show so easily running into this stuff.

Mlp was how I found inflation kinks, vore kinks, vore itself, pregnancy kinks, masochism, etc. It’s disgusting what effects a bad community can cause. I was way too young to be exposed to what I saw and I wish I hadn’t seen any of it in the first place. Mlp was my first introduction to gore stories. I remember finding nsfw mlp artwork at 8 yrs old. That was the first time I viewed pornography before I could even understand what sex really was. I ended up developing a pornography addiction that I still struggle with today. It’s not as bad these days, thankfully, but my heart goes out to anyone who has similar experiences. That stuff messed me up and no one else deserves to have their childhood ruined. It is slightly comforting to know I’m not the only one who was traumatized tho.

@Teddy Baker is going ghost! I don't think.. porn addiction is a good thing.. What happens when you get into a relationship? And let's not forget most relationships are ruined, Marriages end up in divorces because of porn. Studies show that porn makes you less productive because it tricks your brain into thinking you're "getting some". What would your parents think? Porn is seen as bad for a reason. So I suggest that you quit, for your happiness and health.

Yeah that’s such a good point. I was a mentally ill child and had a hyperfuxation in that type of shit. Later leading me to having a big of a fire/death addiction. It definitely primed me for weird shit. But at the same time. This fandom is what let me find a way to nurture and express my feminine side. Fan creators coming out as trans was insanely helpful in me eventually accepting myself. I always say that bronies either turned out as trans or creeps

Overtime I had forgotten about most of it so luckily it didn’t affect me mentally that much. When I saw some mlp horror stories on TikTok today I remembered what I saw as a child and got very curious, and I found this video on KZbin. I was a tween girl who was really into My Little Pony. I loved the cute nature of the show, the lessons, and of course the music was amazing. I had access to the internet and it wasn't censored, so I was exposed to many of the creepy and inappropriate content on KZbin and DeviantArt. I had nightmares for weeks at times, especially from Cupcakes and Smile. I also remember stuff life Friendship Was Magic and this Luna/Nightmare Moon video game with creepy pasta photos that freaked me out. I wanted to go to BronyCon but I was too scared due to my internet experiences. Also not to mention, being a girl, it led to a few instances of awkward online experiences. I recall going to see Equestria Girls in the cinemas and being SO excited to be watching a MLP related movie. During the film and before the film, I would hear these comments from Bronies that weirded me out. It just felt like I didn't belong even though I was the target demographic and I was super young and hearing inappropriate things, it really messed with my head for a while. It was a wholesome fandom at times, not to mention extremely talented with their fan made animations and songs, however there are some rotten apples within the fandom that gave it a bad image.

It wasn’t entirely unnoticed in the day. Back in the day, there was “Safe Search Wrap-Up,” where bronies (such as myself back then) would Google MLP character names with SafeSearch on and report anything that was NSFW, usually focusing on R34 art. Traditionally, it was done in the 7th and the 20th of every month. It was a big deal on Tumblr from about 2013-2015, but fell off as the fandom got smaller. I think something like this should be done today with other fandoms in general, not just MLP. Of course, that relies on Google to actually give a shit about these reports and not seemingly ignore them, which was a problem back then and depressingly is still a problem now.

it honestly kind of sickens me how sites like this will add all these drastic ‘user safety’ updates like youtube and coppa and let it STILL be a sh[]t show. they act like they care by adding these features but if the features ever backfire or just flat out dont work, they couldn’t care less. seems like they just don’t want to get sued more than they actually care about their users. you have no idea how much mature mlp content has been marked as made for kids by coppa that i have seen. this just makes the problem WORSE.

But the sheer number of adult men who pushed disturbing torture content and porn on me was unlike any other fan space I've ever been in. Gore, r*pe, and abuse of the child characters was never confined to the "dark corners of the fandom" it was widely popular and spread around often. It felt like there was a fandom-wide competition to try to devise the most fucked-up and cruel situations for the ponies to be in.

This is the absolute best way of summing it up as someone who was also a tween fan during the height of it's popularity. From my experiences of what I remember it always felt like all the fucked up gross disturbing shit were stuff other hardcore fans expected you to have experienced or at least know about like being expected to be in on an inside joke with friends because of just how often all the fucked up content were so heavily memed about so casually by people. Most bronies were clearly actually self-aware of how much of it existed, yet nobody gave a shit how widespread and normalized that shit was even by just joking about the existence of them alone. Yeah sure you could argue kids needing better supervision on their screentime which I'd definitely agree with, and I do 100% have a understanding of how the internet works. But it doesn't make it any less weird as hell that all the gross and disturbing bullshit that existed in the fandom were SO normalized that it was even normal to joke about the mere existence of them because of just HOW FUCKING MUCH SHIT TON AMOUNT of it all existed solely just for a kids' show of all things. Like jesus LMFAO the shock value content that existed in the fandom were just so inescapable even if you didn't actively searched for them willingly at all.
