In the books her story’s pretty sad. Her name is Lollys Stokeworth and she’s implied to have some kind of mental disability, but the characters just refer to her as “dumb” or “lackwit”. Her mom hasn’t been able to find a husband for her. During the King’s Landing riot she is SA’d and gets pregnant. Bronn marries her and he names the baby Tyrion, much to Cersei’s chagrin. Bronn kills her brother-in-law and Cersei sends her sister in the black cells to be tortured to death by Qyburn. I don’t think I’d consider it a happy ending, but compared to a bunch of other characters’ fates it’s a Disney ending.

What's great about Bronn is that he eventually becomes lord of that castle in the books. The sister and her husband try to kill him on Cersei's orders, but the man screws up by dueling Bronn. Even more heartwarming but sad is that his wife, Lolys, was r*ped during the King's Landing riots and is pregnant. She is known to suffer with severe depression and ptsd, is often gossiped about and made fun of at court, and is treated as undesirable because of her pregnancy. But as far as we know in the text, Bronn -- who is also disliked there for having been a common sellsword before knighthood -- is kind and gentle to her. He even adopts her baby boy and names him Tyrion.

Bronn may only be a minor character but he swiftly became my favorite. Largely . . probably entirely . . because he is played by Jerome Flynn. In a series he did concurrently with GoT, "Ripper Street", Jerome plays another lowborn character of the rough streets, a police sergeant who is the 'fixer' at his nick, who touchingly falls in love with and adores another 'unsuitable' woman who eventually becomes his wife--a woman who works in a brothel. Flynn has a gift for projecting sincerity and wit, though Bronn is a much wittier person than Sgt. Bennet Drake of H Division. I highly recommend that show too because of Jerome. I like to think of Ser Bronn happy with his wife. She might not be a brain trust but if she loves him and is happy at home, they will have a good life together. A smarter and more ambitious woman would be less content with a sellsword for a husband.
