You got it correct, he’s a text book player that lacks any offensive creativity or improvisation skills that come from playing pick up. As odd as it sounds they’ve basically trained him to be a role player, he doesn’t know how to attack angles or how to consistently create offense on his own off the dribble or in iso situations. His points mainly come from spot ups, screens and in transition. Bro lives in LA, so I don’t know how he isn’t playing pick up, there are high level Hoopers all over the city. Kobe when he was 17 was all over the City hooping. I noticed that too, we never see videos of him at any camps or open runs. He never plays in settings that aren’t controlled. Good bump/runs is where you get better and get to expand your game and try different things. Practicing in an empty gym ain’t enough.

If Mikey Williams or DJ Wagner ever played in a tight tournament game and scored only 1 point and less than 4 pts in back to back games, everyone would roast them. People are just curious why it’s so difficult for him to consistently score. This game was tight and his team could have really used his scoring.
