Will and Alex chat about Rich Paul’s recent comments on Masai Ujiri’s interest in Bronny James (3:57), the Alex Caruso-Josh Giddey trade (08:42), free agency updates on Malik Monk (12:34), Pascal Siakam (14:35), and OG Anunoby (18:30), and the Lakers hiring JJ Redick as their new head coach (23:40) before Will, Alex, and Jerome try to spend a minute saying something nice about the Celtics’ 18th championship banner (29:34). Later, Will and Alex discuss the Team Canada senior men’s national team’s training camp roster (36:11), who will secure the 12 roster spots for Paris (43:35), and potential closing lineups at the Olympics (49:32).

Why even waste time on Bronny? Unless Masai says it then it's just Rich Paul using Toronto as leverage to get Bronny drafted at the end of the first round or for a team to trade for Toronto's #31 pick. CoJo should have gotten a camp invite over guards Bell-Haynes and the Scrubb brothers. Dalano Banton should have gotten an invite too. CoJo and Banton could have been one of three alternates. Both Mathurin and Sharpe are still rehabbing injuries. Will is already slandering Wiggins and implying he might not be playing every game... geez. AW is one of the team's top 3 overall players along with SGA and Murray, plus is the team's best wing defender over Dort and Brooks. I think you’re looking at names instead of how they do, scrubb brothers can ball, along with Haynes, Dalano ain’t ready for international play IMO. CoJo hasn’t been apart of the process over the last few times they played. Keeping the FIBA team together is great as they won the bronze together and are all locked in together

@@mongru Phil Scrubb can play but his best days are far behind him. Thomas Scrubb is the lesser of the two brothers by far - especially in 2024. Dalano Banton led Team Canada in scoring during the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup and has only gotten better. CoJo was in FIBA training camp just last year but left due to a reported slight back injury. Keeping that 2023 World Cup FIBA team together is a recipe for not medaling, especially when everyone else is bringing their A-Team to Paris. But many Canadians seemingly lack that killer instinct to compete. Canada didn't even naturalize a citizen like every other medal contending team has done even the USA (Embiid). Naturalizing someone like Jacob Poeltl would take the team's talent level up a notch. Poeltl surely would help strengthen the center rotation which is a glaring weakness on the roster. It's all about collective talent levels not some misguided feeling of nostalgia. To beat the best in Paris, they have to bring their best and most talented players molded into a team. Injuries can always happen and it's next man up - Scrubb or CoJo? Bell-Haynes or Banton? All the best.

@@IceManLikeGervini hear you, but banton wasn’t playing against the competition the fiba team was playing against, even if CoJo got the invite I don’t think he would’ve made the team. As for Jakob, he isn’t a Canadian citizen like Embiid is an American citizen, not like just anyone can play for any country

@@mongru I believe that the team can take 3 non main roster reserves as well. CoJo would have gotten one of those spots as should have Banton if they didn't make the main roster. CoJo has been committed to the program. The Team Canada powers that be (Rowan Barrett and Michael Bartlett) are smelling themselves big time. If they don't come back with an Olympic medal then it will be on them for not bringing in the best and most talented players. Embiid is also a French citizen, and was a French citizen before he became an American citizen. Embiid was originally planning to play for France. They can easily naturalize a player while speeding up the process like Team Canada MBB has done before. They naturalized Samuel Dalembert, in a sped up process, who is from Hati. Yes, anyone that becomes a naturalized citizen can play for said country. But I believe the FIBA limit is one per roster.

Pascal was 7th in scoring and 10th in rebounding in playoffs and lead the pacers in those categories in the regular season and playoffs
