RIP Steve Bronski. Bronski was the voice of LGBTQ in our generation. One of my happiest memories was dancing with my partner Billy to Beat Boy at Disneyland's Videopolis the year of my high school graduation (1986) and the relief and promise that I would finally be able to leave my homophobic/pious Christian family and live authentically. HIT THAT PERFECT BEAT.

@@kiryuchan860 I for one would readily dismiss SAW, as they did nothing for Hi-NRG but turn it into derivative dance-pop fluff after the genre had already peaked in the gay discos. A more deserving act who translated the club sounds into pop music (besides Bronski Beat) was the Pet Shop Boys, whose adoption of house and techno in the 90s drew a direct link between 80s disco and modern forms of dance music.
