I think this lecture was meant to dissuade me from the BAP way. It didn’t work. And like… wrapping your thesis around what happened in Apocalypse Now… this is peak midwit. Kudos to the lecturer. Bro… join us. You can easily belong. We will need many midwit (non-lesbian) commissars.

This is tangential but I feel like it’s the same phenomenon with the media/left and trump. They think they’re attacks and rebuttals dissuade people from trumps influence but I reckon it’s only pushing people into trumps lap idk

Wait wait wait let’s tread carefully with the Apocalypse now stuff as far as I’m concerned he constructs an absolutely spot on analogy. One that demands contemplation. Also let’s not forget Nietzsche is BAPs primary inspiration and Apocalypse Now as well as the source novel was written in the interim of Nietzsche and BAP making it highly relevant. Plus brother there’s no movement there’s no us if you read BAM you know this

BAP is indeed a controversial figure in modern philosophy. Yet man speaking here did not provide any counterarguments to his position. In contrary, even his take on "reason did not achieve anything valuable" that supposedly would win an applause at Ivy league is precisely what BAP is taking about, a cyclical argument of sorts. I would not go as far as claiming that BAP is a revolutionary philosopher, but his work is realy groundbreaking or, as i would like it be, icebreaking - shaking and movind modern mainstream philosophical consensus. And if we go as far to believe that Costin Alamariu and BAP is the same person, his next work "Selevtive Breeding..." more than proves the point Thanks for a recap on a Bronze Age Mindset

In BAPs defense as well as Friedrich’s the imposition is that the Conqueror’s actions are spontaneous so whether for the sake of another or for himself it’s not a matter of reason it’s a matter of animalism.

@@edwardburroughs1489 “BAP too mainstream & conventional” -BAP hates reason- but this guy gives no evidence that reason is working. -BAP denies history, but this guy is overstating the case, mischaracterizes him. History is not set in stone. -BAP hates humanity. Gives no evidence what’s so great about humanity It’s like you never read the book yourself. This guy has no vision but comfort seeking.

@@bryanutility9609 I havent read the book. Its the first time Ive heard of it. I will say the objections you raise don't seem to suggest 'strawmanning' on the speakers part. WRT to the first point, in Objectivist philosophy it is axiomatic that reason is a good thing.
