I find it ironic that you value being passionate and sharing YOUR voice, but don’t get it when VP Pence Uses his. You think it’s important to meet people, because they see who you really are, and yet you refused to meet withVP Pence when he reached out to you. This is a personal get to know you forum with a US Olympic athlete. No more, no less. If the reporters who represent the US Olympic Organization did not feel this way, then they would not have asked those questions. In essence, they are the ones who are liable for the answer that he gives because they are the ones to encourage his true answers. Sure, there have been other US Olympic athletes who did not allow the opportunity for this situation to exist such as Brian Boitano or Johnny Wier but they did not present themselves as to who they really were. We call that the hidden athlete just as many other gays and lesbians hid or continue to hide who they were or who they are. This would also includes our Military, Homeland Security, Law Enforcement and First Responders. Our nation has developed and matured to be all inclusive and accepting. We have developed as a nation based on human dignity. No matter who you are, where you come from, what you look like or what religion you practice, you are equal under the eyes of God and you are equal under the eyes of the law. He is just another fabric of our society and a true representation of what the United States is all about. With that said, you can hate him for however you want to hate him. By the way, did you notice how many Asian Americans represent the US Olympic Skating Team. Yet another example of another fabric of our society. No other nation in the world is as dynamic and diverse as the USA. As for VP Pence, he has chosen to put himself in the spot light being an advocate against the LGBT community. Even President Trump has given Pence a tough time on his reputation against the LGBT community. Mr. Rippon and VP Pence have agreed to meet after the Olympics to have a formal conversation about the above listed topic at hand. VP Pence is an elected official and is paid to represent ALL tax paying citizens, not just a specific group of citizens such as a specific religious entity. God Bless and have a wonderful life.

I've been following the sport for 30 years. He didn't flub any jumps because he didn't try any difficult ones. Not difficult at your local rink. I mean Olympic level difficult. Listen to this interview and all his others. He's just talking about "being fun" and "finding his voice" ... this is all Oprah level nonsense. He is not a serious athlete, as he claims.
