Broody Chicken Attacks

Saruman is usually the friendliest, chillest chicken of the flock - not today. My little darling has become the most vicious broody on the block.
I didn't expect more than ten people to view this! Thanks for watching my poor quality home videos. If you wanted to see what she looks like when she isn't a mad broody, I filmed an update. This one is kind of medium on the peck scale, her sister Gandalf pecks a lot harder when she get's overexcited eating the mealworms out of my hand. That is a test of my pain tolerance, but I love that clumsy chicken.

I heard you can build like some kind of net canapy's underneath the nesting box's to catch eggs if they make them that way you don't get hurt trying to get to them. Without hurting the eggs either. that is if you're not trying to have chics

I should check it out. I had her hatching duck eggs at the time. They take a good 35 days. Annoying her and getting her into defensive mumma mode seemed to keep her broody long enough to hatch them. If I saw signs she was losing interest I'd pretend to try and steal her eggs, she would go all angry broody on me and she would lock back onto them for the day.

it depends if the hen really wants to hurt you ive had broodies not make a peep, do the growlies, scream bloody murder(not fun when a blind rooster is around), lightly bite, or do a full on bleeder. ive only ever had one cause a bleeder ever
