Jump Start is a KS extra scenario I believe. I wanted to feature cops with some cooperative abilities. Ricky has a ton. I didn’t really use them enough though. Selfish :)

Thanks, Mike! Great rundown as usual. Also, this gives me a good structural overview of the Sadler's next KS fantasy game 'Altar Quest' which uses the same game mechanical template. Having said that, wouldn't it have been way more interesting to have had an amalgamated fantasy cop theme for this board game, rather than either cop theme or dark fantasy theme? I would have bought that game!

I have mixed feeling about this, Street Master and the whole modular deck system as a whole... I played SM and I have BC. I see the replay-ability value it creates, replacing the need for a campaign but 1) It seems difficult to achieve balance, the combinations of all these different decks compounding can create an incredibly difficult situation by the 2nd half of a scenario; and 2) It makes everything all very fiddly, with so many cards on the table, effects and phases.... I wonder here if they should have combined the Criminal and Case decks into one "master criminal" deck, so after the player turns you would simply activate this one deck... Of course it would diminish the possible number of combinations but do we really need thousands of possible deck combinations? On the good side, it would cut a phase and reduce the number of cards on the table. Just a thought...

I think what you describe could definitely work, though you’d lose some of the mix and match variety of course.

One Stop Co-op Shop For sure, but with so many expansions and room for more, that would be remediated with more “master criminal decks”... For example, there are 3 criminal and 3 Case decks in the base, leading to 9 combinations just there... They could have created like 5 “master crime decks” and still would be plenty to combine with all the possible character decks.

@@dddmmm21 It's easy to follow cos you look at most of the cards when they activate. It's not like Sentinels of Multiverse, and I feel it is a good thing to separate criminel and case...it allows thematic variation. The system is easy, with not so many cards...But for this one you need a bigger table than for Street Masters in order to not be confused...the playmat wich I've found too big at first is really well done for a good setup...I put it in the middle of the table, left side tokens, crew minis, cars minis, and on the right side my cops...on two rows. As soon as you havez played one...it's really easy to play all scenarios and easy to manage cards

Double sided cards you can add on to vary the difficulty, or just change up the experience. Allies generally exhaust on a cop’s turn to move and put some progress on a crime. Rivals tend to move around the board adding stress to you or boosting crime defense, though you can go bust them to remove their effects. They tend to be tough though.

Thanks for the playthrough, it was great to see the game in action. I'm glad I skipped this one, it looks like a ton of bookkeeping with a lot going on but has a great theme. I backed the recent SM, though, so I'm hoping this isn't the case with that game too.

Bookkeeping takes some time, though the criminal and case turns are really fast overall.

At 39:35 you should take the 3 influence off the crime card and add one to Slade...the crimes work different to his Investors...

Also frustrated by the rules book once again... The whole crime area, player area, etc is poorly explained with no illustration, at one point they say "threat area" which is a concept from SM (no revision here), things are out of order, its talks about being "near/nearby" without explanation and the "adjacency/encounter" explanation on page 7 is undecipherable :-/

I would have changed some of the graphic overviews. But besides that, I found it clear and had no major rules questions. The only slightly awkward thing for me is entering and exiting vehicles multiple times a turn in steps.

Jesus. Blacklist Games need better artists. Some of the artwork (board) is horrible. :/

I find the board unobtrusive and functional, which in a game with a lot going on I appreciate. I have more gripes about the character art. Most of it is really good, but in a few cases the depiction of characters isn’t consistent. Doesn’t bother me much, though.

I like the Art. You have to Look at the Ammount of artwork and decks in blacklist games. And they are charging a reasonable price for it. I Hope they can Stay in Business! The board remindes me of simcity 😂

The only gripe I have with the board is the building labels. It takes some time sometimes to find names for things. Otherwise it’s totally legit imho.

After Legendary Adventures: Firefly, it takes a LOT to make me complain about art. I haven't had any complaints about Brook City yet. :)
