Gosh, I love these older shows! The music, the videography, and Colin McKuen made this so much more appealing than your average fishing show. The newer shows are good in their own way, but everything magical about flyfishing and nature really came together in these shows. You always remember your first love, and these were mine.

I caught a beautiful 5 inch brook trout fishing a heavily stocked creek in PA 2 weeks ago. It was better than catching an 18 inch rainbow to me, and I was just happy to see them still existing there

At 60 years of age growing up out west in the USA, fly fishing was just natural and what we did. I remember the big stringers of bows and browns and fish fries at the end of a two week fish camp. I remember the pink meat of Brookies - never knew them to be a different species; most were so small we didn't keep them. Wonderful days and the best of times. I wish people could see them today, but time changes all. Makes me sad, but I am happy that others can follow; even if it is different. God Bless on this Easter eve,

Don't be too Happy. The environment that you knew as a youngster is no longer. Uncaring corporations whose only interest is Money have destroyed the health of the environment along with the health of the humans that live in it.

Always learn something from your great videos. All of our trout are introduced in Australia. We mainly have browns and rainbows (last two or three years, Browns are more common, they tolerate our warmer climate better). There are small numbers of Brook Trout in at least one Southern Alpine river and lake. I have seen some when hiking and need to put catching one on next season’s bucket list. Thank you for all your videos.

I am in the Southern Sierra of CA. We find Brooke trout in higher elevations, small streams and are usually in the 4” to 12” range most 6/8”. They are easily spooked but also very opportunistic.

Fracking has alot to do with erosion and pollution of lime stone streams in PA leading to major changes in the ecosystem and causing habitat loss for the wild brook trout and other species as well.

The New Fly Fisher actually I was reading up on it a lot last night. The fish were thick in the pine way back but in the 1800s mills in Horning’s Mills were the beginning of the washout. I still see great trout everytime I go but even compared to fifteen years ago it’s nothing what it was. Honestly I shouldn’t say decade old spots , I’m sure my great grandpa fished those creeks.

I’ve found that the brook trout bite more when a cloud comes over or when it’s about to rain slightly.

They can sense the pending change in pressure and know the rain knocks insects into the water. It’s the dinner bell. Lol.

Brookies are such beautiful fish. We had a private lake here in Utah full of wild reproducing brook and brown trout. Fish and Game decided to kill them and replant Bonniville cutthrought. So they killed wild fish that are survivors and replant hatchery fish that couldent survive. Common sense seems to be disappearing in America.
