Why i think Oda is a genius, and why brook will become by the end of the story one of the best well written character of the manga? That's because brook have the most appropriate virtue a man should have, which is Self-restrain. He's by far the best as a human being, among the crew. The most logical, calm and oldest, the more lucid, he has a good global vision of things and so he's the most experimented on the world in which he lives. However, he keeps his self-love away from the ship as he's grateful and loyal toward luffy and his comrade, which again are inferior as human being as he is. That's why the destiny of brook at the end of the story is to be the man who sacrifice himself for his comrade, and i think he will fly away on a sentence like this " i already lived and died before you were even born, you gave me the opportunity to live a second life with you, a one who even surpassing the real one, it was like a dream. That's why it's my duty now to repay my debt and give you the life you gave me"

I know some people had trouble connecting to Brook early on but I adored him from the beginning. I dunno if it was the loneliness he went through, his over joyous demeanor, or his amazing skills as a musician and as a swordsman. When his first episode aired I saw a little bit of myself in him as someone who was incredibly lonely and depressed but still wanted to make others smile and laugh and still wanted to make something of themselves through skill and talent. I think Brook is honestly my favorite character of all the straw hats!

I already liked Brook when I first watched the series, since I play viola and I just like fun skeleton characters Back in March, I moved into my first apartment and started living by myself. The same weekend I moved out, my job was suddenly switched to exclusively work from home due to Covid, and there weren't a lot of opportunities to see people. I still see my family a couple times a week, but this is the most physically isolated I've been up to this point in my life and I feel like it's finally starting to really get to me When I rewatched Thriller Bark last week, the flashback to Brook being alone on that wandering ship really hit different, and the nonsensical quirky jokes like "45 degrees!" suddenly made a lot more sense

Brook was absolutely incredible at wci and I got chills when he went up against big mom! Great video, as always, and I love that you bring up how Brook is made into more of a comic relief character in the anime because it was something I genuinely hadn't noticed (partly bc I don't keep up with the anime anymore, I imagine) but is so true, now that I think about it. I do feel like Oda's excellent ability to mix humor and more serious themes gets sort of lost in adaptation, which is a shame because it's one of the many things that really make him stand out as an author. So thanks for bringing that up! (a sidenote: I fell in love with bink's sake the moment I heard it, and learning how to play it has been one of the best musical decisions of my life)

The background music was perfect, it -combined with your words- gave me goosebumbs. Brook is an amazing character ( and no, not just becouse he is a musican like me XD ) since i'm rewatching some arcs, i noticed it more and more. If you try to ignore the sometimes just anoying jokes added by the anime, you really notice his kindness etc. ^^ I just hope that oda will touch more upon the fact that Brook allready sailed the seas 50 years ago, i'm sure he'd be able to tell some interesting storys and usefull facts about that time

I love Brook! He's one of my favorite characters. I actually wish Oda would focus more on the non Monster Trio characters more, hell, I wish he'd give Sanji more screen time, especially redeeming fighting moments. Oda seems to REALLY spam Luffy and Zoro, and it's annoying. I really love Sanji, Brook, and Nico Robin the most. They have great personalities, and power.

brook has the saddest backstory, fight me. 50 years in absolute solitude and seeing you most beloved persons die or leave to save you, is heart crushing, robin had it bad, but she could continue forward going to new lands, try to keep living, brook couldnt, he was stuck on the ship and most probably would have killed himself if he did know how to do it

The whole messeage of broke representing loyalty rminds me of one of my favorite flavor texts from a black magic the gathering card, i dont know the card, but i remember the following by heart "Death is no excuse for disobedience" Its not as sweat and carring, but its atleast in the same vain, that mabey one day this montra will push me to live in a monent of bleak outlook. There are other flavor texts that stick with me from magic the gathering, some similar to the former. Brook is just... amazing, dosnt seem like he would fit, but has a home and he isnt going anywere. even if he were to die all over again, i know he'll be by there side forever more
