Oh my god Brooke I’m crying, this year I competed in the teenage 16-17 Online Qualifier and I struggled with the weights because I have a torn labrum in my hip so it’s week and I have major pain, I was so disappointed in my self but my family and my coaches told me how proud of me they were but it didn’t feel real, I couldn’t enjoy it because I was so disappointed in my self. You did great this year, I love you and I’m proud of you and how you did this year.

I've respected you as an athlete for a long time but after this video I see you in a totally different light. You're so incredibly self-aware and I really admire that about you. It's rare to see someone with the ability to fully feel all your emotions without suppressing them and then letting them go. All the disappointment and frustration you must have been feeling coming out of Day 1 was completely gone for Day 2. 10:40 so what it sounds like is your family and coaches just want YOU to be happy. The look on their face doesn't sound like its because they're disappointed in your performance; its probably because they want YOU to feel proud of your performance, even if the results weren't what you expected. Perform because you love it and enjoy all of your fails and successes.

Brooke, this video is truly inspirational. In this age of social media we too often see so many carefully crafted selfies and intricately edited videos its really difficult to believe we are getting the whole story. Folks choose to include whats good and edit out the things that don't fit their narrative. This video shows adversity and the grit of an athlete staring it down. Real unedited frustration, acceptance, determination, and perseverance. Powerful stuff. Thanks for such an honest look at your battle, I know I will take inspiration and courage from watching it.
