I’m going to sound like a hater here. Usually all this nepotism business doesn’t bother me but something about this book does. And it’s not really the subpar photos but the fact it was released as a legitimate photography book. There is so many wonderful photographers out there who could only dream of getting a book deal. They have the passion and want to share that with the world and make money from their craft, yet this guy gets signed so easily and releases this? It kind of feels like a slap in the face. There’s no story here, no substance. And most of the photos are in black and white probably because those are seen as more dynamic I assume. The layout is messy. Why do we need to see a mostly blank white page with only a small black and white mirror selfie? I just don’t understand.

The saddest thing is that if you see some pictures, he actually has potential. So I don't understand with all that money, the Beckham's didn't hire a photographer to educate him. They have the money to do that. The main part is that we notice the lad hasn't enough training. The photo of David Beckham his hands has motion blur, because of the lack of skill, but if he putted more effort in it, it could actually be a good picture. Pose the hands symmetrical, the light was already good, maybe in front of the face, use a tripod or monopod etc. There are moments in the book, that you think: 'Hey, if he wouldn't find his mirror selfies so important, he might be able to create a vision. Selfies aren't even the problem, if he was actually creative with it, instead of acting like 'The old soul in a young body,' while everybody except him already knows he is a kid mentally.

You’re right, this should have been marketed differently. Perhaps instead of giving it the introspective title "What I See", perhaps it could have been more realistically titled "My Collection of Selfies" or something like that. also, if the editor would have coax more descriptive text from him, I think it might have been OK. For example, letting us know what he was feeling when he took this selfie, or what he was thinking, or what the location was where he took a selfie and if it had any special meaning. A good editor could have made this book better.

I was on a studio and saw a photobook. Chapters were divided by genres of photography. Comparing to this one, I felt more appreciation with the craft and how photographers played with light. Captions were only the names of the respective photographers. As to this one, it's more of a autobiography with some photos in it. You need captions to clearly tell to the readers what's happening in the photo.

His father is my all time favorite football player (in Europe we call it football because it is played using feet). When I was a teen I have dreamt to cross and kick like he did and I have spent most of the spare time practicing just that. I have heard that his kid has shot some campaign for some company and I have thought that he might be some prodigy using a camera. I guess money gives you that title, even if it is not the case. Hell, I have pictures on my hard drives that nobody other than me have seen and I am 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000% positive that are way more interesting and can actually bring some sort of a value in some book than what this copy of Paris Hilton have presented in those pages.
