Lived in Pasadena 9 years, some of the worst pizza around. In fact, as a frustrated east coaster I learned to make my own.

While Brooklyn Sq may not be the best example, Pasadena has improved their NY pizza game over the last few years. I think Pie Life Pizza on Raymond is pretty good. And the slices I had at U Street Pizza were also very good. They opened up about a year ago. There is also a Tomato Pie Pizza Joint in S. Pasadena that has some pretty decent NY style pizza.
