I work at Pizza Hut. Here's the ingredients. We take a large pan pizza dough and stretch it out to an extra large thin. The sauce is the same sauce in our Italian pasta, and not our usual pizza sauce. We use the same mozzarella, and both regular and Detroit style pepperoni. It goes through a conveyor belt oven for around 7 minutes before being buttered, cut and boxed. Then it waits in the warmer until you come pick it up or it gets delivered.

Mind you, fast food is never a good idea and I say that while working for fast food. We have to do all of these steps within 4 minutes. If I wanted to get diarrhea, I would try to get someone to cook me an Italian or seafood dinner in under 5 minutes. You know what I mean?

It used to always be really good. But this sort of service has become normal since 2020. Don't know why. Seems to be some sort of cultural shift. It isn't just the low level workers either who don't get paid enough to truly care about customers, you see new customer unfriendly policies from higher ups of many large businesses all the time, including WalMart. In fact COVID was basically just used an excuse by many CEOs to implement customer unfriendly policies which had nothing to do with social distancing, the pandemic itself, or even supply chain issues! They did it because many businesses were forced to change to fit the pandemic, and other businesses just saw it as an opportunity to implement unpopular changes that have nothing to do with the pandemic. The new normal doesn't look like perpetual covid fear, it is instead perpetual indifference to other people.

Hello there. I used to be an employee from Papa Johns. Now I'm an employee of Pizza Hut. Seeing this pizza for the first time surprised me. The tiny pepperonis, the extra cheese coupled with the Parmesan makes this a delicious treat. A blast from the past so to speak. Glad you liked it!

@@TheYardninja I was a manager at Pizza Hut, they come in frozen. Breadsticks as well. You oil the pan the dough goes in, put in the frozen dough and then proof the dough and store it in the walk in. My Pizza Hut had to do this about 3 times a day so all the dough customers got was always “fresh” not old.

In my small town we had a Pizza Hut with the big red roof. Inside was dimly lit with a lot of booths and a buffet. I would play TMNT on the arcade while we waited for the pizza. It felt like it took ages to arrive. The Big New Yorker was my favorite.

Unfortunately the sauce is different from the original, the sauce not as bold (if i recall it used the sweet 16 sauce originally). and the pizza this time around wasn't greasy at all, the bottom of each slice was dry and crisp... not what the original was.. the original was bolder, greasy and had 2 pounds of a cheese blend on it. So its not bad but its definitely not the same as the original, the original was much better. P.s. i worked for pizza hut when they had thr big newyorker back then so i am very familiar with it as i had to make thousands of them.

I have come to hate pizza hut over the last few years. Now if I get pizza I either get papa johns or dominos. I may have to get a big new yorker this weekend.

Pizza Hut has such pioneering geniuses! Slice the usually sized pizza into 6 slices instead of 8, and presto... the slices are larger! Such innovation! It's practically magic!

I just found out about this and had the exact same thought. Ordering one for the nostalgia. My brother worked at pizza hut in 1999 and one time brought home a big new yorker pizza that he also made into a stuffed crust pizza - the best of both worlds!

I tried this pizza a few days ago, and although the salt and grease were at borderline health hazard levels, it was genuinely tasty and reasonably priced considering pizza hut generally tends to be much more reserved with their coupon offers and overall runs more expensive when compared to domino's.

In the 80s, we’d go to the Pizza Hut in Jersey City on rt 440 and the pan pies were delicious, caramelized, fresh. Dough was fresh, proofed. In the late 90s till today Pizza Hut has continuously disappointed. WTH happened? That said, I am binging on ROTW videos- love this guy.

Ex-manager here, every single piece of dough now comes frozen in discs. The Hut is the only one out of the big names that does not make fresh dough in house these days, as far as I'm aware.

Yes in the 1980s and early 90s Pizza Hut really was the king of delivery pizza joints..and the buffets were awesome too. No reason to go there anymore IMO it has declined too much in quality.

You got lucky. We tried this pizza twice. Each time we got a double pepperoni and a cheese. Both times they were dry and tasteless. I haven’t been so disappointed with Pizza Hut as I I’m not sure if the local store doesn’t know what they are doing or if it is something else but I was really mad over these.

HA! me too. I wrote a google review about it and to my surprise Pizzahut actually offered me another for free. So there I was picking it up. They knew they screwed up the first time and so wanted to make it right...they still gave me a dry nearly cheeseless pizza with only 3-4 pepperoni per slice

Oregano I feel is one of those spices that usually does come through as long as you know its there, so if you can't taste oregano then it might not be oregano at all.

The pizza is good. The part that really pisses me off is that they didn’t bring back the original Big New Yorker sweet sauce. That is why I loved it when I was a kid. All they are using is the breadstick sauce. I know because I talked to someone who works there. Really disappointed they didn’t actually use the sauce.

It’s 100 times better than that other slop they’re serving. I’m not a Pizza Hut fan. But I will eat this a couple times a month. But the sauce is not the same. I’ve been having them put breadstick sauce on my pizza for years. Highly disappointing

We've had this in New Zealand for the last year or so now. I think they were trialing it here. We have the Big BBQ Bacon, Big Margherita, Big Triple Cheese, and Big New Yorker, all in that size and style range. Love the channel :)

Its common for fast food places to 'trial' products in Australia and New Zealand as they are culturally similar enough to the USA, and much less of a risk than pushing a new product America-wide out of the gate. The "share a coke with" campaign was the same way, The touch screen ordering at McDonald's too.

If your from the east coast you know pizza huts "big new yorker" isn't real new york style pizza and we only buy pan pizza from pizza hut. If we want new york style pizza we'll just go down to the corner and buy the real thing from our local pizzeria, we have them all over the place in every town and city, and we grow up eating it all the time and love it still.
