Haha as a college student I would just like to let every younger person know that this is not the norm for college dorm rooms! At most schools they are MUCH smaller, and most people don’t decorate them to look this good. I wish this is what my freshman dorm had been like though!! It looks great :)

I go to Baylor. This is the nicest dorm building on campus. They payed extra just to be in this building with apartment style dorms. That’s not including all the extra stuff they added. Most freshmen live in a classic one room, two bed dorm room. This does not represent what the normal Baylor freshman lives in.

Dara Udobong even if you can get the same room the next year (my school calls it “squatting”) you still have to move allllllllll your stuff out and take everything off the walls, tables etc. so they can clean it and use the room for people taking summer classes that stay on campus

i really don’t understand why people are hating on this video. they’ve said MULTIPLE times that this isn’t even really a dorm; it’s an APARTMENT type dorm. they’re not trying to give any false hope to their younger viewers that this is what college is going to be like. if you expect most college dorms to be as fun and over-the-top like this one, then that’s on you. don’t ridicule them for having money and wanting to go all-out. they have money, they work hard for it, they’re allowed to splurge and decorate as they please. as for their roommates; i’m sure b&b wouldn’t have decorated like this if it wasn’t okay with their roommates. with that being said; get off their backs, let them live, and appreciate the fact that they have nice taste in furniture. thank you.

True but it would be nice if they made a video of the normal baylor dorm room but i knew for a fact this wasn't it because I went there for a little than U.T. Austin the dorms are super small & over priced especially at U.T. but I'm happy for them they deserve it. I just hope that everyone's school yr is great & please be nice to each other college is very hard I went back for some classes & it's actually easier because of soo many sites you can use for help but also so much harder its crazier than when I went. Not really. In the down I lived in before transferring. I had the cheapest dorm but this girl on the 2nd floor went all out our didnt even seem like the same room. Meanwhile in my room it was basic. So ig ight just depends on money or being good with finding deals. And they have brand deals too

I'm looking at all of this and just thinking about how dusty everything's gonna get! Seriously, dorms are notorious for being kinda musty and dusty. I think it's a beautiful space but unless they're gonna have a cleaning crew come in weekly and clean for them, all those crevices are gonna grow cobwebs. I live in an 11x16 room with one cat (no human roommate), and spend 10-15 minutes daily making my bed, vacuuming up stray litter, and picking up quickly. On Sunday's I spend 45-60 minutes changing my sheets, washing my bedding/blankets, vacuuming with carpet cleaner, dusting all my surfaces, wiping down my futon, and cleaning my mirrors.I can't imagine how long it would take to clean that entire space!

I just want to say that you guys are great and I love your videos as well as your family's A lot of people may be saying that you guys are giving off unrealistic expectations of dorm rooms but in reality, a lot of dorm rooms or dorm apartments are like this. Sometimes colleges make you stay in that dorm for your four years because you pay for it, so it makes sense for you to make it feel like home. Elise I went to a small college and we didn’t have suites or apartment style dorms, so i had such a small space to work with. My dorm was filled with things I either brought from home, bought at a thrift store, or was graciously given from someone who had previously lived in a dorm. They’re extremely lucky to have a space like that, especially for their freshmen year!

@@daydreams1246 Because most dorm rooms are not that big. My sister didn't get a suite until she was a senior in college. Even her suite was not that beg. They probably spent upwards of a grand or more to make this room possible that's not realistic for most college freshman. I'm sure that's what Amy meant by this is setting freshman up for disaster. They work hard so they are lucky to be able to do this.

during college, I lived in an apartment for 5 years, and making it feel comfy and at home really helped me (that’s for my case since I have the whole place to myself :D) the year I’m moving out, my parents would come to visit and they would slowly bring home all the unnecessary stuff I’ve accumulated over the years so we didn’t have it hard when the moving out day finally came.

Wow flashback of the 70's! I had the same stuff like this back of the 70's, owl wool with a stick on the wall, Popsicle sticks with colorful or warm color wools, strings arts, etc... Most of my friends went to university like this but they smoke weed while studying. lol Memories!!!

Wow. So many negative comments. I understand that most people are not blessed to have this nice of a dorm room / apartment, but can't we just appreciate how nice it looks? And all those people saying it is too extra... Honestly, a nice room can do so much good for your mood. Of course, if you have a broom closet for a room you are not going to be there very often and it may not be worth decorating, but this place is big, so I don't see why they wouldn't be spending time in there. It looks great and I hope you two have a wonderful time at college. :)

I went to Baylor and my freshman year I was lucky enough to be in apartment style dorms too! I obviously didn't go all out and decorate like this but it was super nice having my own bathroom. About 4 dorm building on campus are set up like this and the rest are normal dorm rooms. You just pay extra for these and I just happened to get this room because I was on a full ride merit scholarship I think.

Kat Actually in the university that i go to, apartment style housing is about $2000 cheaper than traditional dorms or suites (and that's without taking into account meal plans)

Kat not really. The apartment style (4 ppl 1 apartment) is the cheapest but traditional and suites are different by about ~$1500-$2000. And then u have to take into account that having your own kitchen and buying your own food will be cheaper than a $6000 meal plan. So it ends up balancing out
