Another great video! Keep in mind, offsetting looks great...and adding beads in between the bunches. Keep in mind, add all the beads you need before weaving to your weft and slowly add as weaving. Cumbersome, maybe....but the effect can be stellar. And, people can't quite figure out how you got the beads in there. Oh, and it adds a little weight to the end of a scarf and makes it drape nicely. Brooks and beads...beaded bouquets...OK, I am done for now. Love weaving!!!! Cheers!

How do you get the beads in??

@@annettemixon1264 I use large hole beads. I use a lot of size 10 crochet yarn for weaving (at 16 epi) and that will usually fit in the hole of size 8 beads. I thread the beads with a milliners needle on the end of the thread and that works out pretty well.

I might try using a cruel needle to do this lace design, it would for sure be less cumbersome, or maybe an Inkle shuttle. I'm not a fan of stick shuttles, I find them very awkward at least for me. I have some ideas how to use this and the Leno in my next project. Thank you Chris for expanding our horizons

Susan, those are great ideas! I can't wait to hear more about how you incorporate it into a future project!

I have a question: for very fine weaving : do you own or use a higher density reed? 60-70 dents per inch or up, or do you combine finer yarns in one dent ? Does it pay off do buy another stainless reed?

Great question! Feel free to place multiple yarns in a dent! I think the closest spacing in a reed I've seen is 16 dents per inch. So, if you are working with very fine yarn, definitely combine multiple yarns in one space. Hope that helps!!

@@ActonCreative I’m about to buy my first multi shaft loom, and was wondering if a standard reed (40/10?) is good enough to do most of the weaving .. so thank you :)

@@qiqi2692 Congratulations!!! I only own 2 reeds - a 12-dent reed, and an 8-dent reed. I've found that those 2 cover my bases in terms of project spacing and the size of my warp yarns. So whatever you choose will be a great place to start! If you find some limitations with it, you can always purchase another one. But, it sounds like you'll be in good shape!!!
