I think what touches me most about this song is that it’s an actual true story Ronnie Dunn (singer) wrote about the relationship he had w/this man when he was young-I love the fact that there’s no racial barriers here-only a young boy who formed a relationship with this man-no matter how many times I’ve listened to it I cry every time-wish our crazy world we’re living in today could take some lessons from this song

I’ve heard of preaching to the choir but if ever there’s been a shared sermon between the speaker and the choir, this was it! What a beautiful work; all that talent in one shared presentation. Thank you for this rendition!

Beautiful song and wonderful video. I can feel the boys loss....I was as blessed in my life like this young man because I had a Mr. Wrigley. His name was Les. He was one the maintenance men at Dorset Village in Los Angeles, Ca. in the 1950s & 60's. Les was the best man I ever met. Les, God Bless you and thank for you for your friendship, humor, support and wisdom. Thank you Brooks & Dun for such a wonderful song and video.

While I respect the roots of country I didn’t grow up with old school country. I actually used to hate country until it sucked me in during the early 90s and 90s country became my go to music that I listen to the most. Each song tells a story, no matter what emotion your feeling there are Country songs that will speak to your heart and provide hope and healing, and the best part about this genre is that the music unites people.

I agree. I'm 28, I grew up with late 80's and 90's country. These days, there aren't many country artists. Pop "country" or everything else they call country and put on a country station is definitely not country. The comment reminds me of the song George Strait & Alan Jackson - Murder on Music Row. It's kind of crazy how true it is.
@BBQ19535 жыл бұрын
Plano Jag - Your comment about the story telling is what drew Ray Charles to Country music in the ‘40s and ‘50s! I guess the genre(s) that we could construe to fit in the Country category have always been about telling the stories of life.
@BBBYpsi5 жыл бұрын
Your right. I grew up in the 60's & 70's listening to rock. Hated country with a passion. Late 90's changed me. I hated all the new crap that was coming out & I learned to really appreciate country for their story telling & the fact actual singing instruments & not a bunch of synthasized stuff & auto tune.
