Have faith. The old man explained to the boy Jesus Christ' promise of life everlasting(written in red in many Bibles)sustained him. His Bible opened to the picture of the wife and child he was now with in heaven. The singer was at Bible college studying to be a minister and was asked/told to drop out because he was playing music in bars on the weekends. Ronnie has opened more hearts to Jesus with this Song of the Year than a lifetime of preaching. Believe.

Truly great song. Ronnie Dunn wrote this about an old man he knew who lived near him growing up. He and Kix Brooks have been the top duo for years. You should check out (if you haven't already), a Craig Morgan song (use the official video) called This Ain't Nothin'. Bit of a heart string tugger, but a great message too. We have all been through a lot in life, and there is nothing can't face or handle.

One of the best things about living in parts of the south 30 or 40 odd years ago was the kinds of people you would meet and you could find them in some of the most unlikely places. I feel bad for the youth culture today, because like the old south, people like these are passing away and often without anyone noticing.

Love Brookes and Dunn and especially this song. If you can believe it, Kix (Brookes) had to talk Ronny into doing this song. Ronny thought it was "too big" for him, he'd never be able to pull it off. How nuts is that. One of his best of many, many greats! Blessings

Lyle, I've seen this video more than 100 times & my eyes have "leaked" every time & also to James Blunt's "Monsters". I subscribed to your channel the first time I saw you because you had such a heartfelt reaction to "Monsters" that you had to walk away to try to gain your composure. If you hadn't reacted that way, I wouldn't have subscribed because if a person doesn't get emotional to "Monsters" or to "Believe", I'm not sure they have a heart or soul! I loved your reaction to this video (it's not as touching without the video) to what I "believe" is Brooks & Dunn's greatest song! My dad died when I was 16, my mom when I was 28 & she never remarried or even dated & she & my dad were only 42 when he died so I sympathize with your losses! I pray for the US, Australia, Canada, UK & all the other countries that are being turned upside down! Thank you & God bless you & your family & you stay safe from southeast Tennessee!

Here’s some “letters in red” for you: John 14:1-2 “1. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” Lyle, like David’s “O’ Holy Night” this one, no matter how many times I’ve watched it, makes me ugly cry , but not so much about Mr. Wrigley’s death, but more because I know exactly what he’s talking about in the chorus. As I get older, straining towards that far country, I’m filled with joyous anticipation, and that brings on the tears, too. I have a lot of loved ones waiting for me there, and I can hardly wait for my faith to become sight.🥹 I’m so thankful that I “believe”. God bless you, Dear One.
